Apple announced the iOS 17 update at this year's WWDC event. However, the company did not immediately start sending out the update to developers for testing.

The iOS 17 beta is now finally out and is crammed with new features and functions. Let's look at what Apple will soon offer iPhone users who qualify for the iOS 17 update.

iOS 17 Public Beta Most-Awaited Features

Apple has finally released the much-awaited iOS 17 public beta update. This beta version is intended for a much wider group of testers and even for the general public.

The latest iOS 17 beta update is relatively more stable than the recently released developer beta builds, which were intended for developers, who wish to optimize their apps. The new iOS 17 public beta includes multiple new features, including a few specifically meant for Indian users.

The latest iOS 17 beta promises to significantly improve the dual-SIM user experience for most iPhone users who use the device with two SIM cards. Specifically speaking, users can sort messages by primary and secondary SIM.

Users can also choose which SIM to use to call an unknown number from which they had missed a call. Users can now set different ringtones for each SIM.
In the iOS 17 update, iPhone users can sign into their Apple ID using their phone number. Previously, users were restricted to email addresses.

The beta update finally brings the extended call history users have been asking for a long time. After updating to the latest iOS and iPadOS version, full-screen screenshots on iPhone and iPad can now be saved as an image or a PDF. Users can now filter messages on iPad. This feature was previously available only on iPhones.

Apple Introduces Features Specially Meant For Indian iPhone Users

Indian users can now welcome and use a bi-lingual Siri. Users can now use a mix of different languages to interact with Siri.

From iOS 17 onwards, Siri will support combining English with Hindi, Telugu, Punjabi, Kannada, or Marathi. This feature is also accessible via iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS. In other words, bi-lingual will now be available on an iPad, Mac PC, and even Apple Watch.

Additionally, Apple is expanding its range of transliteration keyboards that are available in iOS. The virtual keyboards now support even more major Indian languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

These new languages are in addition to existing transliteration keyboards for Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Marathi, and Bengali. These keyboards can also be used on iPadOS and macOS. Apple has also added an in-built dictionary for Punjabi language users.
