Asus ZenFone 3 Is Coming Soon With These 5 Promising Features!

The Computex 2016 will start on May 31, but Asus has sent out the invites for the Zenvolution event that will be held before the Computex. This event will be held on May 30.

Though the company has not revealed that it will launch the ZenFone 3 series in the invitation, it is believed to do so at the event.

As of now, we do not know much about the Asus ZenFone 3 lineup, except for the confirmed presence of USB Type-C ports.

Here's a roundup of the rumors and speculations that were let out by the gossip mongers about the ZenFone 3 series.

ZenFone 3 series to feature fingerprint sensors

The ZenFone 3 series smartphones are speculated to come with a fingerprint reader, as per a rumor that came in December last year. This is something that the earlier ZenFone models did not feature.

The report further suggested that these devices will be launched sometime in May or June 2016.

Intel chips replaced by Qualcomm this time?

New variants of the ZenFone 3 models popped up on GFXBench benchmarking site. The handset with the codename Z010DD was spotted on the database.

The listing revealed that the manufacturer is switching from Intel to Qualcomm to power the lineup. The device was listed to equip an octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC that is a mid-range one.

Benchmark listing reveals mid-range specs

As per the listing, the ZenFone 3 has a 5.9 inch display with an HD screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

It is said to arrive with 2 GB and 3 GB RAM, internal storage of 32 GB, and camera combination of 12 MP and 5 MP.

Hexa-core variant of ZenFone 3 spotted

The benchmarking site also revealed another ZenFone 3 model with the codename Z012D. This features better specs but has a smaller display.

It is listed to feature a 5.5 inch Full HD 1080p display, hexa-core Snapdragon 650 SoC at 1.7 GHz and 3 GB RAM.

2.5D curved glass on both sides

The design website Red Dot 21 revealed a glimpse of the upcoming Asus lineup of smartphones. The ZenFone 3 was listed with front facing LED flash, 2.5D curved screen on both front and back.

It was also shown to have laser autofocus and USB Type-C port. The power button at the rear tips at the possibility of a fingerprint sensor there.

It seems to have a full metal body design and a home button at the front. The render shows that the design will be similar to that of ZenFone 2.
