Best Flagship Killer Smartphones in India: Xiaomi 14 CIVI, Honor 200 Pro, Moto Edge 50 Ultra, More
The flagship killer market has been a long-forgotten market in India in the past couple of years. However, in 2024, we have seen a resurgence of this segment (Rs 40,000 to Rs 55,000).
Brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, Vivo, Realme, and Google, among others, have all aided in reviving this once stagnant market. Before we dive into this list, stay tuned till the end to find out our 'Dark Horse' pick. Now, without any further delays, here's a look at the best flagship killer smartphones in India in 2024.

iQOO 12 5G | Rs 52,999 | 12GB/256GB
First up on our list is the smartphone crowned best flagship killer of 2023 by Gizbot, the iQOO 12 5G. The iQOO 12 5G is the only smartphone on our list to use a full-fledge Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, making it the most powerful flagship killer in India. But power alone isn't enough to guarantee you a spot on this list.
But when that power is combined with other flagship-worthy specs like a 144Hz LTPO OLED display, a 5,000 mAh battery with 120Hz wired charging support, a top-notch build, and a versatile camera setup (50MP Main + 50MP Ultrawide + 64MP Periscope), then it is easy to see why the iQOO 12 5G sits atop this list. For the best hardware in the segment, go with the iQOO 12 5G.
Motorola Edge 50 Ultra | Rs 54,999 | 12GB/512GB
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra offers the perfect combination of hardware and software of any phone on this list. The Edge 50 Ultra features an identical rear camera setup as the iQOO 12 5G, with a large 50MP OmniVision OV50H primary sensor, a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide lens, and a 64MP periscope unit with 3x optical zoom.
However, Motorola one ups iQOO with the inclusion of a 50MP selfie camera with AF support. Additionally, Motorola's camera setup is boosted by the AI capabilities of the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, which also delivers near-flagship level performance.
The phone also features a 144Hz pOLED display, near-stock Android 14 software, a 4,500 mAh battery with 125W wired and 50W wireless charging support, and an IP68 rating. The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra also boasts a tough aluminium frame and is the first phone to feature a wooden back panel. For the best combination of hardware and software, the Edge 50 Ultra is worth considering.

Xiaomi 14 CIVI | Rs 42,999 | 8GB/256GB
The Xiaomi 14 CIVI is the first smartphone on our list under the 50K mark. However, despite the lower price tag, it makes few compromises, maintaining the flagship killer experience. The camera setup here, 50MP Main + 50MP Telephoto-portrait + 12MP Ultrawide, is tailored towards delivering the best-in-class portrait shots.
What's more is it also the only phone on this list with five 'proper' cameras. Yes, the Xiaomi 14 CIVI has two 32MP front cameras, one of which offers autofocus. The camera setup on the Xiaomi 14 CIVI was co-developed with Leica, bringing a ton of fun portrait photography modes and accurate colour reproduction. But going beyond cameras, the phone also features other top-tier specs.
It uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, a 1.5K 120Hz OLED display, 67W wired fast charging support, and Android 14-based HyperOS with several AI features. Moreover, the Xiaomi 14 CIVI also packs an impressive 4,700 mAh battery in a sleek and compact design. If you are looking for a smartphone under Rs 45,000, there are few better than the 14 CIVI.
Honor 200 Pro | Rs 57,998 | 12GB/512GB
Yes, the Honor 200 Pro does fall more into flagship territory. However, the company is offering a 5,000-discount coupon and an instant Rs 3,000 discount for purchasing the Honor 200 Pro with any major bank card. But now, let's move on to how the Honor 200 Pro completes the brands comeback in India.
First off, let's start with its specifications, which includes a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, a 5,200 mAh battery with 100W wired and 66W wireless charging support, a 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. The downside here is the plastic frame.
However, the Honor 200 Pro also features a versatile camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP telephoto-portrait unit, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. Honor has collaborated with Harcourt Studio to introduce fun portrait modes. Up front, the Honor 200 Pro features a 50MP selfie camera and a 2MP depth sensor.

Google Pixel 8a | Rs 52,999 | 8GB/128GB
The Pixel 8a is inarguably the smartest phone on this list, seamlessly integrating AI into every aspect of the smartphone experience. Moreover, it also brings the best software experience and support in the segment. Because Google relies heavily on software magic, hardware on the Pixel 8a can be found lacking.
However, you still get one of the best FHD+ 120Hz OLED displays in the segment, a very smart Tensor G3 chip that can perform, a sizeable 4,404 mAh battery, and an IP67 rating for resistance to dust and water.
It also features a solid build and a good set of cameras (64MP + 13MP). Unfortunately, the phone is prone to heating. If you are looking for a compact smartphone with the best software experience in the segment, the Pixel 8a is the way to go.
Realme GT 6 | Rs 40,999 | 8GB/256GB
The Realme GT 6 is the most affordable smartphone on this list to use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. The phone is no slouch, with a 120Hz LTPO OLED display with a peak brightness of 6,000 nits, a massive 5,500 mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging support, and an IP65 rating.
Moreover, the phone also features a versatile camera setup with a 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary sensor, a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto unit, and an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultrawide lens. The Realme GT 6 also debuts as the first AI-powered smartphone by the company. While the Realme GT 6 is an extremely powerful smartphone, its cameras can be found lacking against the competition.
Vivo V30 Pro | Rs 41,700 | 8GB/256GB
The Vivo V30 Pro does fall short on the performance front. But what it lacks in performance, it more than makes up for in optics. The Vivo V30 Pro comes with one of the most versatile triple rear cameras on this list with a 50MP Sony IMX920 primary sensor, a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide lens, and a 50MP Sony IMX816 telephoto-portrait lens.
Moreover, the rear cameras here were co-developed with ZEISS, impressing in terms of colour reproduction and portrait photography. It also brings a ton of fun portrait modes. The Vivo V30 Pro also boasts a 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display, a 5,000 mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging support, and MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC.
Unfortunately, the MediaTek chip here falls short of the competition and is seen on smartphones under Rs 30,000. And while the Vivo V30 Pro does feature a sleek design, build quality is questionable. If the Vivo V30 Pro does appeal to you, we'd recommend waiting for the Vivo V40 Pro (Arriving in India in August), which fixes all the shortcomings of the V30 Pro.

Samsung Galaxy S23 | Rs 45,900 | 8GB/128GB
As we mentioned that this list did include a dark horse, which is none other than the Galaxy S23. Despite being well over a year and a half old, the Galaxy S23 feature a very powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which is on par with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. Moreover, the S23 is also getting some of the best Galaxy AI features.
Additionally, the Galaxy S23 also features a 120Hz LTPO AMOELD display, the best build of any phone on this list, flagship-grade software support, and an IP68 rating. The Galaxy S23 also brings a flagship camera setup (50MP Main + 12MP Ultrawide + 10MP Telephoto) to the segment. The downside is that the Galaxy S23 has a smaller 3,900 mAh battery with much slower charging compared to other phones on this list.
