Gionee M6 and M6 Plus Announced: What Makes Them Different?
Gionee has announced the M6 and M6 Plus smartphones at an event in Beijing today. These devices are given large batteries that will pump in enough juice for them to last longer.
The highlights of the Gionee M6 and M6 Plus are the security features that are given to these phones with the dedicated encryption chip that will protect the uses' data at the hardware level. This way, hackers will be prevented from gaining access to the data as they can't bypass the encryptions.

Well, as mentioned above, Gionee has announced two smartphones - M6 and M6 Plus. Both are similar at the software level, but when it comes to the hardware specs, there are some notable differences between the two. We will take you through the differences over here. Take a look!

M6 Plus has a larger display
The Gionee M6 has a 5.5-inch FHD 1080p AMOLED display. On the other hand, the M6 Plus being a bigger variant, features a 6-inch FHD 1080p AMOLED display. While the 5.5-inch one should be enough for the entertainment purposes, the 6-inch device is for those who demand bigger screens.
There's dual-LED flash on M6 Plus
Gionee M6 boasts a 13 MP main snapper at its back whereas there is a better 16 MP main camera on the M6 Plus. Otherwise, both have dual-LED flash for better low light shots. At the front, both have an 8 MP selfie shooter.
M6 Plus battery is also large
While the M6 has a 5,000 mAh battery, the M6 Plus has a 6,020 mAh battery operating under its hood to give the 6-inch device a better backup.
Similarities
Both the Gionee phones are powered by a MediaTek MT6755m octa-core 64-bit processor that is teamed up with 4 GB RAM and run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow topped with Amigo 3.5 OS.
Pricing
The Gionee M6 is priced at RMB 2,699 (approx. Rs 27,000) and RMB 2,899 (aprrox. Rs 29,000) for the 64 GB and 128 GB variants. On the other hand, the Gionee M6 Plus carries a price tag of RMB 2,999 (approx. Rs 30,00) and RMB 3,199 (approx. Rs 32,000) for the 64 GB and 128 GB variants.
