Google Pixel Hardware Event

Google's upcoming hardware event is taking place on August 13 at 10:00 am PT or 10:30 pm IST. The event can be livestreamed on the company's official YouTube channel and social media channels.

Following the launch, the Pixel 9 series will go on sale in Inda through Flipkart from August 14 at 12 midnight. The line-up will include the Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the latter of which will debut as Google's first foldable Pixel in India.

Google Pixel 9 Series

The Google Pixel 9 series will be powered by the new Tensor G4 chipset, although it isn't expected to offer a major bump over the Tensor G3. The Pixel 9 series will likely come with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.

The Pixel 9 is expected to feature a 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Google is calling it the 'Actua Display'. On the other hand, the Google Pixel 9 Pro (6.3-inch) and 9 Pro XL (6.8-inch) will feature LTPO OLED screens with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, which Google calls the 'Super Actua Display'.

For optics, the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL are expected to feature a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 48MP ultrawide lens, and a 48MP telephoto-periscope unit with OIS. Lastly, up front, the Pixel 9 Pro models will feature a new 42MP selfie camera.

The Pixel 9, on the other hand, is touted to feature a 50MP primary sensor with OIS and an upgraded 48MP ultrawide lens. The leaked material also suggests the Pixel 9 will feature a 10.5MP selfie camera.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold

Lastly, the Pixel Fold is also getting an upgrade and will now be called the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. According to the poster, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will feature a 6.3-inch cover OLED display and an 8-inch Super Actua Flex internal OLED screen. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will also use the new Tensor G4 chipset paired with up to 16GB of RAM.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will feature a downgraded 48 MP primary camera sensor paired with a 10.5MP ultrawide lens and a 10.8MP telephoto unit. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is also expected to come with two 10MP front cameras on the cover and internal displays.

The Google Pixel 9 series will run stock Android 14 out of the box. The phones are expected to get seven years of Android and regular security updates. The Pixel 9 smartphones will also come with an updated Emergency SOS feature, one-year free Gemini Premium, and a whole host of AI features.

Google Pixel Buds Pro 2

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 will feature larger grills matching the bud colors and a charging case possibly equipped with a small speaker for Google's Find My feature. Available colors include gray, white, green, and pink.

While design details are known, specifications remain largely undisclosed. A regulatory listing suggests a 650mAh battery for the case. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are expected to retain active noise cancellation and multipoint connectivity features from their predecessor.

Google Pixel Watch 3

The Pixel Watch 3, shown in renders with a chunkier design, will come in 41mm and 45mm sizes. The 41mm version will feature a 10% larger screen due to thinner bezels. Both models are expected to have a brighter 2,000-nit display and an ultra-wideband chip for better location tracking.

The 41mm watch might have a larger 310mAh battery and 20% faster charging. Leaks suggest up to 24 hours of battery life with always-on display or 36 hours with Battery Saver mode, and support for offline Google Maps, new camera controls, and live feeds from Nest devices.

Additional surprises may be revealed at the event, including a new "Google TV Streamer." Stay tuned to Gizbot for all the latest developments about the upcoming Google Hardware event.
