As already evident from press invites sent out last week, HTC is all set to launch its latest flagship smartphone - the HTC 10 - in India on May 26th. This smartphone is among the flagships of 2016 and the specifications speak for it.

With features like the Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and a metal unibody, the HTC 10 is a smartphone that many HTC loyalists are waiting for. Here are some of the specifications that the HTC 10 will bring along on May 26th.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset

Debuting with the Le Max Pro recently, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 is the processor that the HTC 10 equips. A quad-core 64-bit chipset, the Snapdragon 820 succeeds the infamous flagship Snapdragon 810 processor of 2015. Clocked at 1.8 GHz, the processor will be accompanied by the Adreno 530 GPU for improved graphic performance.

USB Type-C Port

With the world moving towards this new technology for charging and data syncing, it is but natural for HTC to finally incorporate the USB Type-C port on their upcoming flagship smartphone, the HTC 10. With a reversible connector and fast charging support, the port will help offer better battery performance during regular daily usage.

A 12MP camera, just like the iPhone 6s and Samsung Galaxy S7

HTC has always been known to experiment with the camera sensors on their latest flagships but 2016 is expected to be different. The HTC 10 sports the new 12MP camera sensor, the same camera as on the Galaxy S7. The rear camera module will be backed by a Sony IMX377 sensor, Laser Autofocus Sensor and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). Apart from that, the front of HTC 10 boasts a 5MP UltraPixel camera making use of Samsung S5K4E6 sensor with support for 1080p recording.

Metal unibody design

The HTC 10 is a complete overhaul from the previous One M8 and One M9 flagship devices from HTC. It has a metal unibody and the design has apparently been borrowed from various other OEMs. Some reports revealed that the company worked on a whole new refreshing design coming out of their traditional philosophy.

Vibrant colors to match your wardrobe

Shunning the boring White and Black color options, HTC has gone ahead and added three new colors for the HTC 10 launch - Carbon Gray, Topaz Gold and Glacial Silver. Aiming to reach a wider audience with this new addition, the three colors are glossy and will add a certain luster to the overall look and feel of the device.

Pricing and Availability

As is already known, the HTC 10 will be released to the Indian audience on May 26th 2016. The US launch price of the smartphone was $680 or Rs. 46,000 approx. Looking at this steep pricing, we can expect the HTC 10 to be priced at around Rs. 51,000 here in India, but we will be able to confirm it once the smartphone launches on May 26th.
