Here's how the new entrant goes against the current best budget smartphone in India.
Both the Xiaomi Redmi 3s and Lenovo K6 Power have a 5-inch screen and metal bodies. However, the K6 Power comes with a 1080p screen with a pixel density of 440 PPI. On the other hand, the Redmi 3s has a 720p screen with a pixel density of 294 PPI. So, the Lenovo phone is a winner in this segment. The Lenovo K6 Power and Xiaomi Redmi 3s come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset, which is an oct-core chip with all the eight cores clocked at 1.4GHz. Supporting the chipset is the Adreno 505 GPU to take up the graphics performance. The Xiaomi Redmi 3s comes with two variants- one with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage and the other one with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The Lenovo K6 Power comes in only one variant- 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Both the phones has support for microSD card slot for expandable storage. Frontal, there is an 8MP sensor on the Lenovo K6 Power and a 5MP sensor is present on the Xiaomi Redmi 3s. So, the K6 Power wins the race in the selfie camera department. The Lenovo K6 Power and Xiaomi Redmi 3s boots Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. And, do make a note that K6 Power runs the company's new rebranded Pure UI and the Redmi 3s comes with Xiaomi's MIUI 8. Lenovo and Xiaomi are branding both the phones as battery heavy ones. Right to the touting, they have embedded big battery in them. The Lenovo K6 Power comes with a 4000mAh battery, which is slightly on the lower side when compared to Redmi 3s's 4100mAh battery. Entry-level segment is heating up these days with every brand launching their smartphone with the battery as the USP. Going by the specifications, the K6 Power is slightly ahead of Redmi 3s regarding display and camera but shares a lot of common specifications in them. Also, the K6 Power can be used to charge other smartphones, which is the same feature seen on other Lenovo phones such as Lenovo Vibe P1 and Asus Zenfone 3 Max. The Lenovo K6 Power will be available exclusively on Flipkart for Rs. 9,999 for the 3GB RAM variant. The company has launched only the 3GB RAM variant and there is no information regarding the 2GB RAM variant.
