With players like Xiaomi, LeEco, Huawei, Gionee and Oppo taking over the smartphone market with their aggressively priced specs heavy offerings, Meizu would not want to stay out of the competition. The company now seems to be adding more high-end smartphones to its portfolio to retain its market and beat the competition.
Earlier this year, the Chinese smartphones maker, came up with the Pro 6 smartphone with beefy specifications and features. It is now reportedly planning (via Android Headlines) to add another specs-heavy smartphone to its MX series, which was known as its flagship series until the company introduced the Pro line.

The unnanounced Meizu MX6 is expected to come with meaty specs to be in the league of the Pro 6, though it might not be equally powerful. As far as its specifications are concerned, here is what the rumors have suggested:
A curved-edge display smartphone
It is rumored that Meizu MX6 will feature a 5.5-inch display, and might have a Samsung Galaxy Edge like dual-edged screen, though nothing can be confirmed about it considering that there is no solid evidence around the same.
Similarity in design:
A new photo of what is believed to be the Meizu MX6 shows the back panel of the phone. The back panel has a striking resemblance to the Meizu's Pro 6 smartphone, with similar bumped up camera module, placement of the LED flash, and the curved plastic antenna strips. The similarity in design could mean either that the company wants to follow a similar design language for both its smartphones, or that the leak is fabricated and is not true.
Expected launch date:
Rumors have it that the MX6 is about to get launched. The phone might be unveiled in less than 3 weeks, possibly on the 19th of July, if rumors are to be believed.
