Motorola Edge 50 Pro vs Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus vs Vivo V30: Design, Display

The Vivo V30 and Motorola Edge 50 Pro both feature a curved display, although the curvature is more pronounced on the former. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ opts for a more comfortable flat design with rounded edges. Both the Edge 50 Pro and Note 13 Pro+ also offer the option of a vegan leather back panel.

The Vivo V30 features a glass back panel, although the Note 13 Pro Plus also offers a glass option. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro shines in terms of its overall build, thanks to its metal frame and IP68 rating.

The Note 13 Pro Plus and Vivo V30 also feature glass protection on the back, although they do use plastic frames. It is worth noting that the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus also offers an IP68 rating. In terms of build, the Edge 50 Pro certainly edges it, although the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ does use flagship-worthy screen protection.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro's 144Hz display is undoubtedly the smoothest of the lot, although the difference here is miniscule. On the other hand, the display on the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ also supports Dolby Vision, while the Vivo V30 has the highest peak brightness of its two competitors. Lastly, the Note 13 Pro+ is the only phone on the list to offer the Always-on display feature.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro vs Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus vs Vivo V30: Performance

Motorola and Vivo have equipped their premium mid-rangers with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, which offers a slight edge in terms of performance and stability over the MediaTek Dimensity 7200-Ultra SoC on the Note 13 Pro+.

Additionally, both the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ and Vivo V30 offer a cooling solution for better heat dissipation and peak sustained performance. This should give the two handsets an edge in gaming performance. However, day-to-day performance should be even across the board.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro vs Vivo V30 vs Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus

In terms of battery sizes, the Vivo V30 and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ have a battery capacity that's over 10% larger than the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. While all three smartphones offer super-fast wired charging support with the adapter included in the box, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro takes it one step further with fast wireless charging support.

For software, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro's interface offers a clean, bloatware-free experience closer to stock Android. The HyperOS on the Note 13 Pro+ comes with all the excellent customization of MIUI, while offering a cleaner interface. Lastly, Funtouch OS also brings a ton of customization, but the software is not as streamlined as the competition. It is worth noting that all three phones will offer fluid multitasking performance.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro vs Vivo V30 vs Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus: Cameras

We have only tested the cameras on the Vivo V30 and its main camera delivers quality results across different lighting scenarios. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ also features a formidable primary camera sensor and the same can be said of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro.

Moving on to the ultrawide camera sensor and Vivo has a major advantage over the competition thanks to the high-res sensor. The Edge 50 Pro comes in close second and the Note 13 Pro+ is the weakest of the three. Lastly, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro also boasts an additional telephoto unit that can achieve 3x optical zoom and 30x hybrid zoom.

Both Motorola and Vivo have equipped their premium smartphones with high-res selfie cameras with Autofocus. Again, the Note 13 Pro+ falls short here. If you are looking for the best cameras at this price point, we'd recommend the Vivo V30, thanks to the incorporation of three quality sensors, although the Motorola Edge 50 Pro comes in close second.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro vs Vivo V30 vs Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus: Conclusion

The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus is an excellent smartphone for entertainment thanks to its top-notch display, comfortable design, and powerful speakers. Moreover, the Note 13 Pro Plus's HyperOS also delivers an above average software experience. The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus is also one of the toughest smartphones in the segment. However, it is letdown by its chipset and cameras.

In our view, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro perfectly blends hardware and software to offer one of the best smartphones in the segment. The camera setup offers a ton of versatility, while the performance, display, battery life, and software are all above average. Then there's the design and build quality, which are also top notch. And the wireless charging is a huge plus.

If you are looking for the best camera experience in the segment, we'd recommend the Vivo V30. Vivo's software magic outputs some excellent results, while color consistent on the two rear cameras is second to none in the segment.

The Vivo V30 also features a sleek design, superb performance, a large battery, and one of the brightest displays in the segment. However, it doesn't offer the best software experience and we wouldn't categorize this design as comfortable.
