HMD Global (brand licensee of Nokia) today launched three new smartphones in India; the new Nokia 6 aka Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus, and the Nokia 8 Sirocco. The Nokia 8 Sirocco is undoubtedly the star out of these three handsets. It not only comes with beautiful looks, but also packs top-of-line specs and features.

At MWC 2018, HMD described the Nokia 8 Sirocco as the "ultimate statement of flagship design with the latest screen and camera technology." The Finnish company had further claimed that this smartphone is "for the fans" who have been asking for a true flagship device. So, even though the Nokia 8 Sirocco carries a high price tag of Rs. 49,999, it is a good bargain looking at the new features the company has packed in it.

Curved glass design

Nokia 8 Sirocco is a stunner, and there's no doubt about that. It has an entirely new design with a curved glass finish and a precision crafted stainless steel frame. Dual rear cameras

The dual rear camera setup on Nokia 8 Sirocco is Zeiss branded (ask your photographer friends why it is a big deal). There is a 12MP wide-angle sensor with f/1.75 aperture and 1.4-micron pixels and a 13MP Telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom support, f/2.6 aperture and 1-micron pixels. The rear camera lets you take as many Bokeh images (blurred background) as you want.

The rear camera also comes with a Live Bokeh mode, which enables users to fine tune the level of background blur with instant visual results on screen. So, you can set up your picture even before clicking it.

Additionally, the rear camera has Nokia's proprietary Pro Mode. If you are new to the term "Pro Mode," it basically allows you to control the white balance, shutter speed and focus with just a simple tap.

Bothie feature

You may have heard that Nokia 8 Sirocco comes with Dual-Sight Bothie mode. Umm, and what is it exactly? With this feature, you can take videos and pictures using the front and rear-facing cameras at the same time. While this feature is also available on last year's Nokia 8, the Nokia 8 Sirocco can take better shots in Bothie Mode.

IP67 rating

The Nokia 8 Sirocco is IP67 certified, which means it can be submerged into the water for 30 minutes at depths of up to 1 meter. The smartphone is also dust resistant. In simple words, even if you accidentally drop the Nokia 8 Sirocco in the toilet, it will work just fine.

Wireless charging and Qualcomm Quick Charge support

There are only a few phones with wireless charging support, and Nokia 8 Sirocco is one of them. Since it sports a glass back, it has Qi wireless charging built in. Besides this, the smartphone's battery has Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 support.
