Over the last one decade or so, we have witnessed a wave of trailblazing devices and technologies hit the market. Right from innovations in smartphone cameras, to new-age wearables, AR and VR, and much more, these technologies have seen phases of development and growth. And now, as we add 5G to the mix, it has opened floodgates to a host of innovations and use cases that promise to take the world by storm.

OPPO’s Future-Ready 5G Technologies Are Making Easy Pathway For Future

One brand that has consistently been ahead of the curve when it comes to breakthrough technological advancements is OPPO. The smart device brand was perhaps the earliest believer in the power of 5G technology, and has thus been able to ramp up its R&D in the space over a short span of time. Thanks to that, OPPO has accumulated a wealth of experience in the development of 5G standards, as well as hardware and software construction.

In India especially, the brand has made 5G development a key focus area and its R&D facility in Hyderabad has been working round the clock towards strengthening India's 5G technology base. OPPO constantly strives to develop core technologies for the 5G era and strengthen the overall ecosystem, along with supporting India in its 5G journey. This is evident in how OPPO recently set up its first 5G innovation lab in the country, marking a major milestone in its India 5G journey, solidifying its commitment of bringing the best of technology to Indian users.

This is not OPPO's first 5G effort in India, though. In March 2020, OPPO became the first company to successfully conduct the first 5G WhatsApp video call at its R&D centre, showing how the brand has been a frontrunner when it comes to 5G readiness. On top of that, it has had some back-to-back successful launches with its astounding 5G products - right from the OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G to the F19 Pro+ 5G.In fact OPPO, has also been one of the few brands to introduce 5G devices in the budget segment with OPPO A74 5G and OPPO A53s 5G which also happens to be the most affordable 5G device with 6GB RAM.

Consumers have also readily lapped up all the OPPO devices, quite in line with a CMR report that notes that OPPO has been one of the most preferred brands by Indian buyers looking for 5G-ready devices. At this pace, the brand is surely going to pave the way for early 5G adoption in the country, and set up its legacy as the pioneer not just in terms of developing products in line with 5G but also in fast deployment to benefit a larger share of consumers.

Along with India, OPPO has also been a pioneer in promoting the commercialisation of 5G technology globaly. With a mission to accelerate 5G roll-out worldwide, the brand's 5G-led innovations are going to prove to be game changer in the industry. This is not just limited to smartphones, but also with other connected devices that significantly enhance user experience and present a more connected tech ecosystem.

In 2019, OPPO led the unveiling of Europe's first commercialized 5G network, along with industry leaders namely Vodafone, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., and Ericsson. The cloud native 5G Core for standalone networks was also tested with OPPO's recently launched Find X3 premium smartphone as OPPO accelerates 5G commercialization through these close partnerships. Even in India, OPPO has been collaborating with the likes of Jio, Airtel, Qualcomm, MediaTek, and others to realize its vision of a smooth and seamless 5G experience for every smartphone user in India.

If all these efforts weren't enough to prove its commitment to developing this future-ready technology, OPPO, as a promoter of 5G, has also filed over 3,700 families of global patent applications, declared over 1,500 families of 5G standard patents to the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), and submitted more than 3,000 5G standard-related proposal to the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). Add to this its achievement of being among the top ten companies regarding the number of declared 5G patent families in 2021, according to a report issued by leading German research institute-IPlytics.

With its robust R&D team (more than 10,000 people) across continents, OPPO seems well positioned to pioneer many more 5G advancements for the world at large. As we enter a new era of technological breakthroughs, one can be assured that the brand will continue to offer more value and convergent experiences to users.
