This custom-designed chip optimizes the Pixel's AI-driven features, such as image processing and voice recognition, which contribute to its competitive edge in software. Although the Tensor G4's BOM is still less than Apple's $135 A18 Pro chip, it reflects Google's goal of balancing cost efficiency with performance.
