Pixel 9 Pro vs Pixel 9 Pro XL: What's Different?
The primary difference between the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL is size. Due to the Pixel 9 Pro XL's larger size, it does come with a bigger display, higher screen resolution, and a larger battery. However, the rest of the specifications and design are the same for both phones.
Pixel 9 vs Pixel 9 Pro vs Pixel 9 Pro XL: What are the Differences?
In terms of design, the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro are similar, i.e., apart from the triple cameras on the back of the 'Pro' variant. The Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL features a matte back panel with a polished metal frame, while the Pixel 9 boasts a polished back panel with a satin metal frame.

While both phones feature 120Hz OLED displays, the Pixel 9 Pro uses LTPO technology. The Pixel 9 Pro's screen sports an adaptive refresh rate between 1Hz - 120Hz as opposed to 60Hz - 120Hz on the vanilla Pixel 9. Additionally, the Pixel 9 Pro also features a higher resolution and can achieve a peak brightness of 3,000 nits as opposed to 2,700 nits on the Pixel 9.
The Pixel 9 Pro XL does have a higher resolution than the Pixel 9 Pro, although its larger screen means a lower pixel density. While both the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro use the same Tensor G4 chip, the latter comes with 16GB of RAM. While battery size is the same on both phones, wireless charging is slightly faster on the Pixel 9 Pro. Moreover, the Pixel 9 Pro XL also offers faster wired charging than its counterparts.
Pixel 9 Pro vs Pixel 9 vs Pixel 9 Pro XL: Cameras
The Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL feature the same wide and ultrawide cameras as the Pixel 9. The only two differences here are the 48MP periscope lens and new 42MP selfie shooter on the Pixel 9 Pro models. Apart from the obvious hardware advantages, the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL can record 8K video at 30fps as opposed to 4K at 60fps on the Pixel 9.

Additionally, the selfie camera on the Pixel 9 has a narrower field of view as compared to its 'Pro' counterparts. The Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL also offer 5x optical zoom and 20x Super Res Zoom for video. Comparatively, the Pixel 9 only offers a 7x digital zoom for videos.
The Pixel 9 also lacks "Pro Controls", Zoom Enhance mode, and a 50MP High-Res mode. Additionally, Video Boost and Night Sight Video are also missing on the vanilla Pixel 9. While all three phones feature a snappy ultrasonic fingerprint reader, the sensor on the Pixel 9 Pro variants also double as a temperature sensor.
Pixel 9 vs Pixel 9 Pro vs Pixel 9 Pro XL: Summary
Despite a price gap of Rs 15,000, there is no difference between the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL, apart from size. And while the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro are similarly sized, there are a few improvements on the 'Pro' model. For Rs 30,000 more, you do get more RAM, a brighter and more efficient display, and a temperature sensor. However, the biggest differences lie in camera hardware and features. So which one will you go for?
