Design and Display

While the Poco M7 Pro and Realme 14x feature a flat screen with a more traditional design that emphasis comfort, the Lava Blaze Duo 5G opts for a curved display, giving it a more premium look. However, the Realme 14x 5G stands out in terms of build quality with a flagship-grade IP68+IP69 rating and a military-grade shock resistance body.

Both the Lava Blaze Duo 5G and Poco M7 Pro feature AMOLED displays, although the screen on the latter is superior. The Poco M7 Pro's display is the brightest in the segment and supports HDR10+ content. The Realme 14x 5G, on the other hand, features an inferior display with a lower resolution.

While the Poco M7 Pro has a clear advantage when it comes to display quality, the Blaze Duo 5G's unique proposition is its second AMOLED panel on the back. The secondary display on the Blaze Duo 5G can act as a viewfinder to take selfies with the phone's main camera, while also bringing up notifications, weather updates, the music player, etc.

Performance

In terms of raw performance, the Poco M7 Pro comes out ahead with its MediaTek Dimensity 7025-Ultra chip, while the Lava Blaze Duo is not too far behind. However, the Realme 14x's MediaTek Dimenty 6300 falls short of the competition with a 10 to 20 percent dip in performance over the competition, depending on your task. Additionally, the Blaze Duo offers faster LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

However, the Realme 14x 5G features the largest battery in the segment, ensuring the best battery life. Additionally, Realme and Poco also promise four years of fluid performance, with the battery being able to maintain 80% of its health after 1,600 charge cycles. The Poco M7 Pro's HyperOS skin offers great levels of customization, although it tends to be heavy on the bloatware for affordable devices.

While Realme UI doesn't offer the same level of customization, it is more user-friendly with features tailored to make the overall smartphone experience more seamless. However, the clear winner here is the Lava Blaze Duo 5G, which offers a clean version of Android without any bloatware, although the Blaze Duo gets one less OS update compared to the M7 Pro 5G and 14x 5G.

Cameras

For optics, the Poco M7 Pro's 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor is the best of the three. Moreover, it features a brighter f/1.5 aperture than the competition, while also offering OIS support. The Realme 14x 5G features a solid 50MP rear camera, although its low-res selfie camera is the worst for the lot for photography.

While the Poco M7 Pro features a superior 20MP selfie camera, the Lava Blaze Duo allows you to use the primary 64MP camera for selfies with the aid of the rear display, giving it a clear advantage. Overall, the Poco M7 Pro 5G offers the best camera experience of the three, although the Blaze Duo does have an edge for selfies because of its unique proposition.

Realme 14x vs Poco M7 Pro vs Lava Blaze Duo: Conclusion

The Poco M7 Pro 5G, Realme 14x 5G, and Lava Blaze Duo 5G each excel in distinct areas, catering to different priorities in the affordable 5G segment.

The Poco M7 Pro 5G leads with its HDR10+ AMOLED display and top-tier 50MP camera but is weighed down by bloatware. The Realme 14x 5G offers durability and excellent battery life, though it lags in performance and display quality. The Lava Blaze Duo 5G impresses with its innovative rear AMOLED display and clean software but sacrifices update support and comes at a greater cost.

Your choice depends on what matters most-display and camera (Poco), durability and battery (Realme), or innovation and simplicity (Lava).
