Realme C67 5G vs Redmi 13C 5G: Which is the best Budget 5G Smartphone in India?

The Realme C67 5G recently went on sale in India's budget 5G space, arriving as the first smartphone in Realme's C series to offer 5G connectivity.

However, the Realme C67 5G in India's highly contested budget 5G smartphone segment. So we've decided to put it to the test and see how the Realme C67 5G fares against its immediate competitor in the Redmi 13C 5G.

Design

The Redmi 13C weighs 192 grams and measures 8.09mm thick, while the Realme C67 5G weighs 190 grams and measures 7.89 mm thick. Both the Realme C67 5G and Redmi 13C 5G feature a plastic back and Gorilla Glass protection on the front.

The devices also boast an IP54 rating for splash and dust resistance. The Redmi 13C features a more dated waterdrop notch as opposed to the more modern hole-punch cutout on the Realme C67 5G. The Redmi 13C 5G also features two individual camera modules as opposed to a camera island on the Realme C67 5G.

Display

The Realme C67 5G features a superior screen as well, offering a higher resolution and refresh rate. The Redmi 13C 5G's panel is TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker Free certified. However, Realme boasts the Mini Capsule feature that offers some of the functionality of Apple's Dynamic Island.

Performance

Both phones use the same MediaTek chipset here, although RAM maxes out at 6GB on the Realme C67 5G and 8GB on the Redmi 13C 5G. Additionally, Redmi's budget 5G smartphone offers up to 256GB of storage. Considering the price difference between the two phones, the Redmi 13C 5G easily offers the better price to performance.

Cameras

The Redmi 13C 5G and Realme C67 5G use 50 MP primary camera sensors that are accompanied by an AI lens. Realme's camera does seem to offer more modes, although it is hard to tell the two apart on paper. Up front, Realme does offer a higher resolution 8 MP selfie camera.

Battery and Software

Both phones are equipped with similar 5,000 mAh batteries, although the Realme C67 5G comes with a faster charging brick. While both phones run on Android 13, MIUI offers greater levels of customization but is more cluttered. On the other hand, Realme UI doesn't quite bring the same level of customization as MIUI but is relatively lighter.

Realme C67 5G vs Redmi 13C 5G: What's the Difference?

The Redmi 13C is significantly cheaper than the Realme's budget 5G smartphone, which could make the difference when push comes to shove.

Moreover, in terms of rear camera performance, battery capacity, and performance, both phones are evenly matched. They also feature a similar design and build, although the Realme C67 5G gets a better display, faster charging, and a higher resolution selfie camera.

On paper, the Realme C67 5G appears to have the upper hand in the specifications department. However, given the price of the two devices, this doesn't seem like a fair comparison. The Redmi 12 5G might be a better competitor to the Realme C67 5G.
