Realme recently dropped the first Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphone in India. The launch of the Realme GT 7 Pro marked the brands return to the Indian flagship segment for the first time since the Realme GT 2 Pro in 2022. However, the Realme GT 7 Pro wasn't the only flagship that made its debut in India this month.
We also saw the return of OPPO's flagship Find X series in India last week, with the introduction of the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro. Although we will focus on the cheaper OPPO Find X8 in this comparison. So let's see how India's first MediaTek Dimensity 9400 and Snapdragon 8 Elite phones fare when pitted against each other in this full specifications comparison.

Realme GT 7 Pro vs OPPO Find X8: What's Different?
The Realme GT 7 Pro is slightly bigger than the Find X8. Moreover, it uses Panda Glass on the back and Gorilla Glass 7i on the front. On the flip side, the OPPO Find X8 uses Gorilla Glass 7i on both the front and back. Both phones feature an aluminium frame and an IP68+IP69 rating for resistance to dust and water. Additionally, the Realme GT 7 Pro is both thicker and heavier than the Find X8.
Both the OPPO Find X8 and Realme GT 7 use 1.5K OLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. Although the Realme GT 7 Pro's screen uses LTPO technology for a more adaptive refresh rate. It also achieves a higher peak brightness at 6,500 nits, compared to the 4,500 nits on the Find X8. Moreover, the Find X8's panel offers Ultra HDR image support. Finally, the Realme GT 7 Pro features quad-curved panel as opposed to the flat display on the Find X8.
We haven't tested the Realme GT 7 Pro's Snapdragon 8 Elite chip yet, so for now, we can only go by benchmarking results. So far, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip does hold a lead over the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC. However, the difference is negligible, although Qualcomm's chipset does offer better AI performance. Going by benchmarking results we've seen so far; we'd say the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip on the GT 7 Pro does have a slight edge here.
In terms of battery life, the Realme GT 7 Pro does have a clear edge on paper. While the different in battery size is negligible, particularly given the smaller screen of the Find X8, the LTPO panel and efficiency gains of the Snapdragon chip, should give it an edge in battery life. And while the Realme GT 7 Pro does come with faster wired charging, the OPPO Find X8 supports extremely fast wired and wireless charging with magnetic convenience.
Realme GT 7 Pro vs OPPO Find X8: Cameras
For photography, the Realme GT 7 Pro offers a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary sensor, an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP Sony IMX882 3x periscope telephoto camera with AI Zoom Ultra Clarity for sharp telephoto shots. A 16MP Sony IMX480 front camera handles selfies and video calls.

The Find X8 features a 50MP Sony LYT-700 main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, OIS, and a 1/1.56" sensor size, a 50MP Samsung 5KJN5 ultrawide lens with an f/2.0 aperture and autofocus, and a 50MP Sony LYT-600 73mm periscope shooter with an f/2.6 aperture and OIS. The device also comes with a 32MP Sony IMX615 selfie camera with an f/2.4 aperture.
We haven't tested the camera sensors of the Realme GT 7 Pro just yet, so we'll just go by specifications here. While the Realme GT 7 Pro does feature a better primary camera, the Find X8 has considerable advantages. First off, it uses a high-res ultrawide lens as opposed to a dated 8MP shooter on the GT 7 Pro.
Moreover, it also comes with a better selfie camera. Then there's the Hasselblad collaboration, which introduces several fun imaging features. Until we test out the Realme GT 7 Pro, we can't say for sure which of these two phones possess the better camera system. But OPPO seems to have a clear edge on paper.
OPPO Find X8 vs Realme GT 7 Pro: Find Thoughts
The Realme GT 7 Pro excels in performance and battery efficiency, thanks to its Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and LTPO OLED display with a higher peak brightness and an adaptive refresh rate. It's ideal for gamers and power users. While the Realme GT 7 Pro boasts faster wired charging, the Find X8 adds wireless convenience.
On the other hand, the OPPO Find X8 offers better camera versatility with its high-res ultrawide and selfie lenses, plus Hasselblad-tuned features, making it a superior choice for photography enthusiasts. In our view, the Realme GT 7 Pro is a more performance-oriented flagship, while the Find X8 offers a more well-rounded flagship experience.
