However, the Note 14 Pro+ isn't the only feature-rich smartphone in the segment with the phone's primary competition being the Realme 13 Pro+ and Motorola Edge 50 Pro. So let's find out which of these phones offer the best bang for your buck in the segment based on their specifications alone.

Design and Build
The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ features flagship-grade Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front, while the Realme 13 Pro+ settles for Gorilla Glass 7i. And while the Motorola Edge 50 Pro also has glass protection on the front, it is not quite on the same level. However, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro does feature a metal frame as opposed to plastic on the Note 14 Pro+ and Realme 13 Pro+.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ and Realme 13 Pro+ opt for glass protection on the back, while the Edge 50 Pro settles for a plastic back. Additionally, the Realme 13 Pro+ and Motorola Edge 50 Pro also come with a vegan leather back panel. The IP68 rating on the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ and Edge 50 Pro is superior to the Realme 13 Pro Plus's IP65 rating, which does offer the same level of protection.
Display
The Realme 13 Pro Plus's screen features a subtler curvature. Additionally, the display on the Realme 13 Pro Plus boasts a lower resolution, while the Edge 50 Pro has the smoothest display at 144Hz. While the display on Redmi's latest mid-range smartphone supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, the Edge 50 Pro is limited to HDR10+ and the Realme 13 Pro+ doesn't support any of the two formats. The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ also has the brightest display here.
Performance
In terms of performance, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip on the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is the fastest of the lot, while the phone also offers the best price-to-performance. The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is not far behind with its Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, while the Realme 13 Pro+ comes in last with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip.
Moreover, the base versions of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Realme 13 Pro+ come with 256GB of storage, double that of the base model of the Note 14 Pro+. However, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro has the smallest battery of the three devices, which is little over 15% smaller than the cell on the Realme 13 Pro+. On the flip side, the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus has a massive battery that is nearly 20% larger than the one on the 13 Pro+.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ also uses a silicon carbon battery, ensuring cooler operation and better battery longevity. Finally, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro offers faster charging support than the competition, while being the only phone in the segment to offer super-fast wireless charging.
Cameras
For optics, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro feature a triple-camera setup with a 50MP OmniVision OV50E primary sensor with an f/1.4 aperture and OIS. The main camera is accompanied by a 13MP SK Hynix HI1336 ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 10MP Samsung S5K3K1 telephoto unit with OIS and 3x optical zoom. Up front, the Edge 50 Pro opts for a 50MP Samsung JNS selfie camera with autofocus.
The Realme 13 Pro+ also boasts a triple-camera setup with a 50MP Sony LYT-701 primary sensor with OIS and an f/1.9 aperture. The main camera is paired with a 50MP Sony LYT-600 periscope shooter with OIS and 3x optical zoom and an 8MP SmartSens SC820 ultrawide shooter with an f/2.2 aperture. Up front, the Realme 13 Pro+ 5G opts for a 32MP Sony IMX615 selfie shooter.
Finally, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ gets a new 50MP Light Hunter 800 primary sensor with OIS and an f/1.6 aperture. The other two camera sensors include a 50MP telephoto unit with 2x optical zoom and an f/2.0 aperture. Finaly, the setup is complete with an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 20MP selfie camera up front.

We haven't tested the cameras of all three phones, so going by hardware alone, I'd say that the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is the best of the three for portrait shots because its 50MP telephoto sensor is primary designed for portrait photography. On the flip side, the Realme 13 Pro+ offers a periscope lens to get up close and personal to subjects.
Motorola's 13MP ultrawide lens is a cut above the 8MP shooters from Realme and Redmi, while the 50MP selfie shooter with AF also gives the Edge 50 Pro an advantage in front camera performance. However, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ utilizes a primary sensor that is found on flagship killers or premium phones, which should give it a theoretical edge over the competition.
Software
All three smartphones run Android 14 with their own custom skins on top. For users who desire a clean, bloat-free experience, the Edge 50 Pro is the way to go. However, HyperOS on the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is no slouch either with tons of customization options and a generally clean UI experience. Although Realme UI 5.0 has some catching up to do. Finally, the Realme 13 Pro+ also offers one less year of software support than its competitors.
Pricing
The Motorola Edge 50 Pro (68W Charger) price in India starts from Rs 27,999 for the 8GB/256GB model. The Edge 50 Pro (125W Charger) is priced at Rs 31,999 for the 12GB/256GB configuration.

Moreover, the handset is also offered in 8GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB configurations that will set you back Rs 32,999 and Rs 35,999, respectively. Since the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ has just arrived in the Indian market, it hasn't seen any price cuts or discounts yet.
Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus vs Realme 13 Pro Plus vs Motorola Edge 50 Pro: What's Different?
The Motorola Edge 50 Pro emerges as the best all-rounder with its flagship-grade Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, smooth 144Hz display, and premium metal frame. Its 50MP selfie camera and ultrawide lens are superior to the competition, and it offers faster wired and wireless charging, making it ideal for power users. However, its smaller battery might deter heavy users.
The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ excels in display quality with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support, the brightest panel, and robust Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Its silicon-carbon battery ensures longevity, while its 50MP telephoto lens makes it a portrait photography champion. However, its base model offers half the storage of its rivals, and its pricing is on the higher side.
The Realme 13 Pro+ lags slightly behind with a lower-resolution display and a less powerful Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip. However, its periscope camera offers unique zoom capabilities, and the vegan leather option adds a touch of elegance. While its pricing is competitive, the lack of Dolby Vision and shorter software support are drawbacks.
