Samsung Galaxy A5 vs Galaxy A7 2016 Edition: What's Different?

After speculations and rumours, the South-Korean giant Samsung has revealed the price of the 2016 edition of Samsung Galaxy A series.

Dubbed as Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016), both these devices will go on sale starting from mid-december in China market initially. However, the Galaxy A3 is yet to be listed on the official website.

Also, both the phones are now also listed on Samsung's official China site. The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) have been priced at CNY 2,398 (approx Rs. 25,000) and CNY 2,699 (approx Rs. 28,000) respectively.

Display

Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016) sports a 5.5-inch full-HD Super Amoled display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. On the other hand, the so-called Galaxy A5 flaunts a 5.2-inch full-HD Super Amoled display with same resolution 1080x1920 pixels.

Processor

On the processor front, both the device shares the same specifications, which is octa-core SoC clocked at 1.6GHz under the board. However, the A7 has 3GB RAM under the hood, while the A5 shares 2GB RAM inside.

Camera

Moving to the imaging factor, both these device shares the same camera specs including 13MP rear camera with LED flash and optical image stabilization, while on the front it has 5MP front facing camera on board.

Storage

Coming to the storage front, here also the smartphones has 16GB of inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded via microSD card up to 128GB.

As of now, there is no information about the OS, anyhow, it will be mostly likely to be shipped with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.

Connectivity

Further, both these mobile phones shares similar connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, ANT+, USB 2.0 and NFC connectivity options. Further, the company has upgraded the 2016 edition smartphones with Samsung Pay, Samsgung mobile payment service and a finger print scanner.

Battery

Atlast, the Galaxy A7 is powered by a huge 3300mAh battery supporting the fast charging technology. On the other side the Galaxy A5 comes juiced with 2900mAh battery under the panel.

What's Different?

Both the Galaxy A5 and A7 (2016) smartphones shares similar specifications, apart from screen size, RAM and dimension size. Comparing it with the Galaxy A series 2015 edition, the new Galaxy 2016 edition smartphones flaunts Samsung's new design with the combination of metal and glass.
