Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs S24 Ultra: What's the Difference?
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is currently available at a discounted price of Rs 99,999 on Amazon India. On the other hand, the Galaxy S25 Ultra's price in India starts from Rs 1,29,999. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra features the same build quality and materials as its predecessor. Both phones also feature an IP68 rating for resistance to dust and water, which is a disappoint for the S25 Ultra considering so many Android flagships in 2025 incorporate an IP68+IP69 rating.
Both phones feature Gorilla Glass Armor on the front and back as well as titanium frames, although the S25 Ultra uses updated Gorilla Glass Armor 2. Additionally, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is slimmer and lighter than its predecessor. Display specifications are the same on both phones, although Samsung has managed to pack a slightly larger screen.
In terms of performance, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has a clear edge thanks to the custom version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip for Galaxy. The new Snapdragon chip also promises better CPU, GPU, and AI performance. Battery life and charging support are also the same on both phones, although the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip also brings efficiency gains over its predecessor.
The most notable update to the Galaxy S25 Ultra is its new 50MP ultrawide lens, which also has a wider aperture than the sensor on the S24 Ultra. Both phones offer similar software support, although the S25 Ultra does have an advantage here since it is a year newer.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs Galaxy S24 Ultra: Conclusion
The differences between the Galaxy S24 Ultra and S25 Ultra are few and far between. However, the two most notable updates on the S25 Ultra are the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and the 50MP ultrawide shooter. Additionally, the S25 Ultra is a bit tougher and sleeker.
In conclusion, the Galaxy S25 Ultra may not be worth the extra price for most users, especially when factoring in the limited differences from the S24 Ultra. However, this comparison does not account for the overall user experience, which can be highly subjective. If you can afford the extra cost, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is certainly worth considering for its incremental improvements and updated features.
