Design & Build
While Samsung has reduced the weight and thickness of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, it is still a little heavier and thicker than the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro. Moreover, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro features a more traditional aspect ratio, making it more comfortable to use folded or unfolded. Vivo also does a better job of hiding the crease in the middle than Samsung.
The X Fold 3 Pro does hold an advantage in design but falls short in terms of overall build quality. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 6 offers a tougher aluminum frame, while using the incredibly durable Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the cover display and back panel. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is also the first foldable smartphone to offer dust resistance.
Display
The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro features larger cover and internal displays compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Moreover, transitioning between the two screens is also more seamless on the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro because of the aspect ratio and size of its displays. The X Fold 3 Pro's screens also support Dolby Vision.
Both internal and cover screens on the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro can achieve a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, although the Z Fold 6's inner display boasts a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, dropping to 1,600 nits on the cover display. On paper, Vivo certainly has the upper hand in terms of display tech.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Vivo X Fold 3 Pro are both equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, ensuring flagship-grade performance. Both Samsung and Vivo have equipped their latest foldables with vapor chambers to help with heat dissipation.
It is worth noting though that the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro comes with more storage and RAM on the base model compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Software
Software is a big part of the foldable experience and the Galaxy Z Fold 6's One UI 6.1.1 might just be the most advanced operating system yet, baked in with a ton of AI features. Samsung's upgrade cycle is the best among smartphones.
Moreover, the South Korean tech giant also offers better support in the long run. While Vivo does offer some competition against Samsung in terms of AI performance, Galaxy AI currently remains unrivalled in terms of AI assistance. Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold 6's S Pen support further sweetens the deal.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro features a 50 MP "Ultra-Sensing" OmniVision OV50H primary sensor with an f/1.68 aperture and OIS support. The main camera is accompanied by a 64 MP OV64B periscope lens with an f/2.57 aperture, OIS support, and 3x optical zoom as well as a 50 MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide lens.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a 50 MP Samsung GN3 primary sensor with OIS and an f/1.8 aperture. The main camera is paired with a 12 MP Sony IMX258 ultrawide lens, and a 10 MP Samsung S5K3K1 sensor with OIS, an f/2.4 aperture, and 3x optical zoom.

There isn't much separating the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro from the Galaxy Z Flip 6. In terms of design, hardware prowess, battery life, charging speed, camera lenses, and visuals, we'd have to recommend the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro. However, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 holds a clear advantage in terms of software, build quality, and camera features.
If you are looking for a durable foldable for the long haul, then the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is worth considering.
