Samsung Launches A Smartphone Which Can Stay Underwater for 30 Minutes!
As promised, the South Korean giant Samsung has launched its much-hyped flagship smartphone in the Indian market today at an event in New Delhi. Dubbed as Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, both these smartphones were announced at the renowned tech show, the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona last month.
Samsung this time, has introduced some interesting changes in features and specifications, which include the addition of the dual-pixel rear camera, liquid cooling system, much powerful chipset.
Coming to the upgrades, the Galaxy S7 series comes with expandable memory storage option and the IP68 rating (Dust and waterproof resistance), which was absent in the S6 series. On the flipside, the company has reduced the camera sensor from 16MP to 12MP on the back.
Moving on to the specifications, the Galaxy S7 comes packed with a 5.1-inch display, Snapdragon 820 processor/ Octa-Core Exynos 8 Octa 8890 SoC, 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, 32GB/64GB inbuilt memory, with the expandable option, 12MP/5MP camera package, IP68 rating and powered by a 3000mAh battery with fast charging capabilities.

On the other hand, the Galaxy S7 Edge also boasts similar specifications except the display size and the battery life. The Galaxy S7 Edge features a 5.5-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED always-on curved edge display and powered by a 3600mAh battery with fast charging capabilities.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 32GB variant comes at a price of Rs. 48,900, while the Galaxy S7 Edge 32GB variant will be available for Rs. 56,900. The pre-booking for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones starts today, till March 17th. For those who are opting for pre booking, they will get a free Gear VR.
Galaxy S7 comes with brilliant 577 PPI
The Samsung Galaxy S7 sports a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, which translates into a brilliant 577 PPI. The Samsung Galaxy S7's display is by far one of the best and brightest screen in the Android world.
Always-On !
Like LG, the Samsung has also integrated the Always On feature in Galaxy S7 device. Always On display into its latest flagship smartphone. This means that part of the display is always active and can display your choice of calendar, clock, notifications or other information.
Indeed a powerful processor!
The Galaxy S7 comes with the most powerful Snapdragon 820 SoC processor and backed by 4GB RAM under the hood. With this hardware, the Galaxy S7 can handle any mobile game or multitasking you could throw at it.
Now you can expand memory!
While the Galaxy S6 came with the lack of expandable memory capability, the Galaxy S7 Edge has the hybrid dual SIM support that lets you use the second slot as an expansion slot. The Galaxy S7 comes with 32GB of inbuilt memory, which can be expanded up to 200GB via microSD card slot.
The hunger for curved display is over!
The Galaxy S7 Edge comes with 5.5-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, which is translated into 534 PPI, along with Super AMOLED always-on curved edge display.

The Galaxy S7 Edge flaunts a 12MP rear camera with LED flash f/1.7 aperture, Smart OIS and on the front side, it is backed by 5MP camera. The company has lowered the resolution to 12MP on the rear than last year's variant, but only to offer larger pixels and f/1.7 aperture, which lets in 56% more light than its predecessor. This means that the camera will deliver clearer and crisper shots, and ensure great imaging performance to its users.
Big battery!
The Galaxy S7 Edge is powered by a 3600mAh battery, with fast charging technology on both wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) charging.
Always-On display
The "Always-On Display" permanently shows a clock with notifications, a calendar, or an image on the S7's screen, however, it does not need more battery to stay lit up. As per the company, this edge feature will consume only half a percent of battery per hour.
Waterproof for the first time!
For the first time, the Samsung has introduced the 'IP68 rating', which is water and dust resistance. This IP68 rating allows for submersion up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. We couldn't have asked for more from Samsung for its Galaxy S7 series of smartphones.
