Smartphones Launching in May 2024: Vivo V30e, OnePlus Nord 4, Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, and More

In April, we came across multiple launches, from the Motorola Edge 50 Pro to the Samsung Galaxy M55, Realme Narzo 70, and others. Next month will be no less, we are expecting a bunch of smartphones to see the light.

Amongst the expected launches are the OnePlus Nord 4, Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, Google Pixel 8a, and more. Also, many of these models are gearing up to arrive in India. Check out the list of upcoming smartphones in India in May 2024.

Upcoming Smartphones Launching in May 2024 (India)

Vivo V30e

The Vivo V30e is confirmed to launch on May 2 in the country. The dedicated microsite on the brand's official site reveals the phone will come with Velvet Red and Slik Blue colour variants. The upcoming Vivo V30e will have an Ultra-Slim 3D Curved display along with a large circular camera module at the rear panel which will house two camera sensors and an Aura Light.

The phone will include a 50MP Sony IMX882 portrait sensor with 50mm prime focal length and 2x optical zoom and a 50MP selfie camera sensor with autofocus. The Vivo V30e is also claimed to be India's slimmest phone which will pack a 5,500 mAh battery. Further, the phone is expected to feature the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and run Android 14-based OS.

OnePlus Nord 4

The OnePlus Nord 4 is expected to be the next model from the brand in India. Although the brand has not revealed anything regarding the upcoming Nord series phone. Rumours suggested that the Nord 3's successor - the OnePlus Nord 4 might arrive next month as a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 3V.

The OnePlus Nord 4 is expected to come under the Rs 35,000 segment in the country. In terms of features, the phone might ship with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip and generative AI capabilities. The Nord 4 is tipped to support up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage, which will be one of the best-selling points for the handset in this price segment.

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra

Motorola recently launched the Edge 50 Pro in India. If rumours are to be believed, the brand could bring the Edge 50 Ultra to the country. However, there is no official word on the same. For the unaware, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra was launched last week in the global market alongside the Edge 50 Fusion.

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra has a 144Hz display with 2,500 nits of peak brightness. The handset is powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. For imaging, there is a 50MP primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support, a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 64MP telephoto camera with up to 3x optical zoom.

On the other hand, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion has a 144Hz display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, and 50MP dual cameras. It remains to be seen if the brand will announce both the Edge 50 Ultra and the Edge 50 Fusion in India.

Samsung Galaxy F55

Samsung could launch the Galaxy F55 next month in India. The upcoming smartphone is rumoured to be the rebranded version of the Galaxy M55 5G. The possible pricing was also leaked online, hinting at a starting price of Rs 26,999. If the launch turns out to be true, we expect Samsung will soon start teasing the arrival of the Galaxy F55.

Google Pixel 8a

The Google Pixel 8a is expected to arrive next month at the company's annual Google I/O conference on May 14. However, the company has not revealed anything regarding the launch of the Pixel 8a. Rumours suggested that the upcoming Pixel phone will be equipped with the Tensor G3 chip and ship with seven years of security updates.
