Sometime in the last week, it was speculated that Sony is prepping a smartphone in the Xperia E lineup as a document from Russia tipped the same. Now, Sony has accidentally showcased the renders of the handset likely dubbed Xperia E5.
Well, the Sony Mobile Facebook page has leaked the renders of the device in different angles. In the last week, the GFXBench listing of the models Sony F3216 and Sony F3311 were leaked tipping that two mid-rangers are in the pipeline.
Though the renders of the Sony Xperia E5 were listed on the official Facebook page of the manufacturer, these renders were removed soon. However, these shots are making rounds on the internet.
Sony F3216 to be relatively better
One of the smartphones that were spotted in the benchmark listing - F3216 seems to be a relatively better one in terms of specifications.
It is listed to employ a 1.9 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 SoC, 21 MP main camera and 16 MP front-facer.
Sony F3311 could be Xperia E5
The Sony F3311 that was spotted along with F3216 on the benchmark listing is likely to be the Xperia E5 that was showcased inadvertently by Sony.
Sony Xperia E5 might is claimed to flaunt a 4.6-inch HD 720p display and draw power from a MediaTek 6735 SoC paired with 1.5 GB RAM. The imaging department is likely to include a 16 MP main camera and a 5 MP selfie shooter.
Date on render is misleading
The date on the render of the alleged Sony Xperia E5 that was leaked on Facebook due to the mishap at Sony is quite misleading. It reads Friday, 5th June, but it is not a useful clue as June 5th is a Sunday.
It is likely that the Xperia E5 will be launched imminently. We can expect the device to be launched in the next few weeks.
