Sony is all set to launch their next flagship device aka the Xperia Z6 in the coming few weeks. It is expected that Sony will debut the successor to the Xperia Z5 at their press event at the MWC 2016.
The Japanese Electronics giant, in most cases is betting big on this smartphone to make a strong comeback onto the market; especially after the dismal performance of the Xperia Z5 series. Thanks to the hefty price tags the devices weren't at all received well in the market, however it expected that Sony won't be repeating their blunder again.

With the MWC due in a week time, here's what you can expect from the upcoming Sony Xperia Z6. Let's get started!
The Xperia Z6 is expected to carry forward the design legacy of its predecessor. This means that the same metal and the glass design will be seen in the upcoming Sony flagship, albeit with a new version of Corning Gorilla Glass. It is expected that Sony will cut short the bezels surrounding the display on the front.
May sport a QHD Triluminous LED Display
Recent trends show that Sony is now preferring to launch three flagship side by side rather that one, as for example they launched the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Premium and Xperia Z5 Compact last year. So it would be a surprise if Sony plans to do anything different this time around.
Tipster worldwide predict that the upcoming Xperia Z6 will come with a 5.2 or a 5.3 inch QHD display (2560x1440p) as compared to the 5.2 inch Full HD IPS LCD panel in the predecessor. It's worth noting that there's slight of possibility of Sony incorporating the 4K panel seen in the Xperia Z5 Premium in the Xperia Z6.
Pressure Sensitive Display?
According to a report by Mobipicker, the Sony Xperia Z6 will come with a display similar to the Force Touch compatible one seen in the Apple iPhone 6S. Leaks claims that Sony is working behind the scenes to come up with a software integration which will be available to make use of the pressure sensitive panel. In case you are unware the upcoming flagship smartphone from Samsung aka the Galaxy S7 is reported to come with a Force Touch display.
To don the Snapdragon 820 on the inside
Sony incorporated the then latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC in the Xperia Z5 when it was launched back in September, hence it is highly likely that the Snapdragon 820 will indeed find its place underneath the Xperia Z6. For those unware the all new chip from Qualcomm makes use of four custom cores named Koryo. Built on 14nm process the four custom Koryo cores are clocked at 2.2GHz each. Off late some alleged benchmark test reveals that the Snapdragon 820 comprehensively beats its rivals including the Exynos 7420 and Apple A9 chip with ease.
RAM Upgrade: 3GB to 4GB!
While other smartphone manufacturers are beating the 4GB heat and planning to opt for higher RAM, Japanese brand Sony is still stuck at 3GB for its flagship Xperia device. Hence it is highly likely that Sony will be making amends this time around by including a higher capacity RAM.
All new IMX318 Sony Exmor RS sensor
Just a few hours back Sony's Imaging division launched the IMX318 CMOS RS sensor for smartphone. The company claims that their latest camera chip is the industry's first stacked CMOS image sensor which comes with a built-in Hybrid Autofocus and a 3 Axis Electronic Stabilisation (EIS). Those following Sony for some time now, maybe aware of the fact that the company has habit of showcasing their flagship camera chips in their flagship smartphones. With the IMX318 sensor sporting a 22.5 effective megapixels expected to ship in May, it won't be a surprise to see them in the Xperia Z6.
MicroSD card slot on cards
MicroSD card has been a deal spoiler when it comes to flagship smartphone from reputed makers like Sony, Samsung, LG. In fact, Samsung faced heavy criticism for missing out on the MicroSD card on the otherwise perfect Galaxy S6. It's no brainer, that Sony too received a similar furore from the tech community. However, reports suggest that they have learned from the previous mistake and thereby including a MicroSD card in the Xperia Z6.
Presence of USB Type C port
This new form of reversible USB port is the new talk of the town now. Hence it is highly no surprise to see Sony make use of that in their flagship smartphone for 2016.
Bigger Battery with Improved Quick Charge
Recent report by tipsters reveal that the Sony Xperia Z6 will sport a larger 3200mAH battery. It worth recalling that the Xperia Z5 came with a 2900mAh cell. Apart from that the device will feature the latest Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
Marshmallow icing on the cake
To top it all the Sony Xperia Z6 will run on Android Marshmallow 6.0 with the company's own UI on top. Thanks to the Marshmallow update the Xperia Z6 will enjoy a few enhanced features including the Doze over its 6 month older predecessor aka the Z5.
