Vivo X500 Series Launch Roundup: Check Specifications, Features, Camera Upgrades, Expected Prices, Launch Date

The Vivo X500 series is set to debut in China with three models - the Vivo X500, X500 Pro and the new X500 Pro Max. Vivo has already confirmed several camera and hardware details, while leaks have filled in the remaining specifications.

With a new Pro Max model, 2nm MediaTek silicon and batteries approaching 8,000mAh, the X500 lineup could mark a major upgrade over the X300 series.

Vivo X500 Series Launch Date and Time

Vivo will launch the X500 series in China on September 21, 2026. The launch event is scheduled for 7:00 PM China time, which translates to 4:30 PM IST in India.

The company has not yet announced the global or India launch date. However, the X500 series could arrive in India as early as October, although this timeline remains unconfirmed.

The initial lineup is expected to include the Vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max. Additional models such as an X500 Ultra or X500s have been tipped for a later launch, but they are not part of the confirmed September 21 lineup.

Vivo X500 Series Pricing: Could Get Significantly More Expensive

Vivo has not announced the X500 series pricing yet. However, the previous-generation Vivo X300 started at ¥4,399 (approximately Rs. 52,000) in China, while the Vivo X300 Pro started at ¥5,299 (approximately Rs. 62,500).

The X500 series could command a considerably higher price this year. Rising RAM and storage component costs, combined with the higher cost of newer MediaTek flagship chipsets, could push Vivo's pricing strategy upwards.

Based on current expectations, the base Vivo X500 could reportedly fall in the ¥5,999 to ¥6,599 range, while the X500 Pro could remain below ¥7,999 in China. These are estimated price ranges and should not be treated as official pricing.

The introduction of the Pro Max also gives Vivo room to position the top-end model at a significantly higher price point.

Vivo X500 Pro Max Specifications and Features

The Vivo X500 Pro Max will be the most ambitious model in the lineup, particularly in terms of camera hardware.

It is expected to feature a 6.85-inch 2K LTPO OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone is also tipped to use a 2nm MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset. An approximately 8,000mAh battery is expected to power the device.

The Pro Max will retain Vivo's large circular camera module and is confirmed to support camera grips and optical lens attachments.

The phone will feature a 200MP Samsung HP0 telephoto sensor measuring 1/1.4-inch, with CIPA 7.0 stabilisation and up to 30x zoom. Vivo is also expected to offer a 400mm professional teleconverter kit.

For the primary camera, the Pro Max will use Vivo and Sony's custom Phantom 900 sensor, designed to deliver up to 17EV dynamic range and three-axis gimbal stabilisation.

Video recording is another major focus. The phone is expected to support 4K slow-motion recording at 240fps, 480fps and 960fps, along with 4K 120fps 10-bit Log video recording.

Vivo X500 Pro Specifications and Features

The Vivo X500 Pro is expected to take a more compact approach while retaining flagship-level hardware.

It is tipped to feature a 6.37-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Like the Pro Max, it is expected to use the 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset.

The camera setup will include a 64MP APO telephoto camera using Sony's LYT-610 sensor. It is expected to offer an 85mm focal length, CIPA 7.0 stabilisation, 4K 120fps slow-motion recording and 4K 60fps HDR video.

The phone is also expected to feature the custom Phantom 900 primary camera sensor, potentially with a 50MP resolution. A 50MP ultrawide camera is also tipped.

Vivo X500 Specifications and Features

The standard Vivo X500 will reportedly feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display and a 7,500mAh battery. Charging support is expected to include 90W wired and 40W wireless charging.

Unlike the Pro and Pro Max, the standard model may use a 3nm Dimensity 9500-series chipset rather than the 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro. This would allow Vivo to keep the standard model's hardware costs somewhat lower as newer semiconductor and memory components become more expensive.

Vivo has confirmed that the X500 will use the same main camera sensor found on the Vivo X300 Pro. This means a 50MP Sony LYT-828 sensor with a 1/1.28-inch sensor size and Zeiss gimbal-level stabilisation. The camera carries a CIPA 5.5 professional stabilisation rating.

The telephoto camera will use the 64MP Sony LYT-610 sensor, also with a CIPA 5.5 rating. It will support 4K 120fps slow-motion recording and a 200mm teleconverter.

Vivo X500 Series: Expected Specifications at a Glance

With the X500 Pro Max, Vivo appears to be pushing the series further into professional mobile photography, while the standard X500 could focus more on balancing flagship hardware with a larger battery. The biggest questions remaining are the official Chinese pricing, complete specifications and India launch details, all of which should become clearer at the September 21 event.
