Xiaomi Mi 5 to be launched on December 3: Top 10 rumored specs of the upcoming flagship
Xiaomi is all set to come up with a new flagship smartphone - the Mi 5, to take on the competition in the market. The Chinese smartphone company is yet to give details about its next big smartphone launch, but much has already been revealed in terms of specifications and other details about the smartphone.
Rumors and conjectures so far hinted the Xiaomi Mi 5 to get unveiled by December this year, but the latest information leak by @leaksfly now suggests its release date to be December 3.
5 Best And 5 Worst Features of The Apple Watch
While Xiaomi Mi 5 seems to be just about a few weeks away, here we take a look at the rumored specifications of the phone.
Design:
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is likely to look very similar to the Mi 4, but with slight yet noticeable changes. It is rumored to flaunt an ultra slim form factor, with Gorilla Glass 4 front and back, and aluminum sides.
Display:
As per the rumored reports so far, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will don a 5.2-inch full HD display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution.
Chipset:
The latest information leaked by @leaksfly suggests that the Mi 5 phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, which as per the report is coming on November 20. Qualcomm, on the other hand, recently revealed that smartphone with Snapdragon 820 CPU are likely to be launched in the first half of 2016. Considering this, the Mi 5 might instead come with the rumored MediaTek's Helio X20 deca-core chipset.
Memory:
The phone is expected to feature 4GB of RAM, and be made available in 16GB and 32GB internal storage options. There may or may not be a microSD card slot in the phone.
Camera:
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to get bumped up camera specs than its predecessors. Rumors suggest that the phone will boast a 16MP rear camera, which will be a significant upgrade from 13MP snapper on the Mi 4 and the Mi 4i. Up front, there will be a 8-megapixel selfie camera, probably with better features, sensor and aperture.
Software:
It is highly speculated that the phone will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the latest iteration of MIUI. We think that the phone will get launched with Android Lollipop version on board, but will be upgradable to the M version.
Battery:
If the rumors are to be believed, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be powered by a 3,000mAh battery and will support wireless charging to instantly charge the phone. This will be welcoming feature addition.
Connectivity:
Inclusion of USB Type-C port on handsets is the latest fad amongst smartpohne makers. In terms of connectivity port, the Xiaomi Mi 5 to is expected to house a USB Type-C port, which is good because this is a reversible port.
Fingerprint Security:
This is certainly another ‘in' features in the market, especially after Google announced fingerprint scanner support for third party apps on Android OS. Xiaomi Mi 5 is also believed to get a fingerprint sensor for an enhanced security of the phone, as well as other features.
Price and availability:
Previous rumors and leaks suggested that the phone will be launched by December, while the latest report claims that it will be released on December 3. As for its pricing, nothing is confirmed as yet, however, considering the competition in the market expect this phone to be placed in the mid-range only.
