Xiaomi Mi Note 2: Top Specifications Which Are Confirmed Ahead of Launch

    Xiaomi is expected to unveil another flagship smartphone for this year along with the successor to the Redmi Note 3. Dubbed as the Mi Note 2, the smartphone is expected to feature top end hardware along with the latest MiUI 8.

    Xiaomi Mi Note 2: Things to Expect

    Xiaomi has been busy these days. The Apple of China is launching a plethora of devices in the home country and as well as India. Recently, the company has launched the Redmi 3S and the Redmi 3S Prime in India. GizBot has already covered the first impressions of the Redmi 3S Prime.

    Along with the Mi Note 2, the Chinese company might launch another smartphone, namely, the Redmi Note 4, which will be the successor to the Redmi Note 3, which was released this year and loved by many people.

    Today, a report came from Weibo which shows the complete specifications of the Mi Note 2. The leaked image is rather like a retail box sticker. Check out the sliders below to know the leaked specifications of the upcoming Mi Note 2.

    Powered by Snapdragon 821 processor

    The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is to be powered by the flagship chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 821. And the smartphone will compete with other flagships in the home country as well as in the international market. To recall, the Mi5 arrived with a Snapdragon 820 chipset onboard.

    5.7-inch QHD display along with Force Touch

    There will be variants for the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. The high-end variant of the smartphone will feature a 5.7-inch Quad HD display along with support for Force Touch. The smartphone will have a 2.5D curved glass. Other variants of the smartphone will feature a 1080p display.

    16MP rear camera

    The high-end variant of the Mi Note boasts a 16MP rear camera along with OIS and PDAF technology. Lower end variants of the smartphone will feature 12MP camera with the same OIS and PDAF.

    6GB/4GBRAM and 32GB/64GB storage

    The higher end variant of the smartphone will arrive with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, whereas the lower end variant will arrive with 32GB of onboard storage and 4GB of RAM.

    Mi Note 2 Edge Variant?

    The leaked report also suggests that the Xiaomi is also launching an Edge variant of the smartphone. The Mi Note 2 Edge shares the same specifications as that of the higher end variant of the Mi Note 2.

    The display is the same QHD one with added Edges along the sides. There is 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. And, the smartphone is powered by the same Snapdragon 821 chipset.


    Connectivity options

    All the three variants of the Mi Note 2 arrive with the same suite of connectivity options. All the connectivity options such as the 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C port, and NFC port are present in the smartphone.

    4000mAh battery

    The Mi Note 2 will be fueled by a 4,000mAh battery. All the three variants have the same battery capacity as per the leaked post. We have seen the Redmi Note 3 arrive with the same 4,000mAh battery and easily lasts for a day.

    Pricing and Availability

    The leaked report also confirmed the pricing of all the variants. The lower end variant of the smartphone with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage will cost CNY 2,499. The variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage costs CNY 2,999 and the Edge variant arrives with a price tag of CNY 3,499.

    In terms of availability, Xiaomi is planning to launch the smartphone sometime in September. Having said that, the company might announce the Redmi Note 4 on August 25 in China
