ZTE, known for its budget smartphones has announced the Mini variant of Axon 7 at IFA 2016, Berlin, Germany. As the name goes, this mini variant is more compact, slightly downsized of the Axon 7 smartphone.
This smartphone will be launched in September in some regions include -- Germany, Spain, Poland, Russia, USA, India, Japan, Australia and Saudi Arabia. As of now, there is no information about the pricing of the device yet.
Coming in Ion Gold, Platinum Grey, the Axon 7 Mini measures 147.5 x 71 x 7.8mm and weighs around 153grams.

Between the speakers on the front is the 5.2-inch AMOLED curved-edged display with 1080p. Even though the resolution has been dropped, it still translates into a 424ppi.
Under the hood, this Mini variant is powered by a Snapdragon 617 CPU, which is not the fastest, backed by the Adreno 405 GPU, along with 3GB RAM. It also comes equipped with 32GB of inbuilt storage with an expandable option up to 128GB via MicroSD card slot.
*Lacks optical image stabilization!*
The Axon 7 Mini comes with 16MP rear camera compared to the 21MP on the Axon 7. This camera has the ability to shoot at 1080p but lacks the optical image stabilization. Meanwhile, the Axon 7 has the option to shoot at 4K! Besides, this downsized variant has autofocus, EIS, PDAF and auto white balance features as well.
On the front, the Axon Mini 7 has 8MP selfie camera on board that should do the trick.

Design-wise, this smartphone resembles Axon 7 with two loud front facing speakers on top and bottom of the display. Like the Axon 7, this smartphone comes equipped with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos magic and a dedicated audio chip inside as well.
*Runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow *
As per the company, this smartphone is shipped with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with few tweaks and customization on the top.
Meanwhile, this smartphone supports connectivity options including Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, single-band, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth v4.1, A2DP, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, NFC, USB v2.0, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector.

The ZTE Axon Mini 7 packs a non-removable 2705mAh battery with Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0, which ZTE says will allow the device to achieve a 46% charge in about 30 minutes.
