First Lumia Smartphone With Microsoft Branding Spotted at TENAA

By Anuj

It wasn't too long ago when Microsoft Devices revealed its plans to drop ‘Nokia' branding on its upcoming Lumia smartphones, and today it appears that a new handset from Microsoft ( minus Nokia) will arrive shortly.

Alleged images of the first ever Microsoft-branded Windows smartphone have been leaked online. Apparently, the forthcoming smartphone appears to be a distant cousin of the Lumia 530 in terms of design and style.

First Lumia Smartphone With Microsoft Branding Spotted at TENAA

The details of smartphone with model number RM-1090 has been leaked online, courtesy Chinese regulatory authority TENAA. Microsoft Lumia RM-1090, which appears to be a low-end, supports dual-SIM functionality, as per the TENAA's certification.

Last month, Microsoft did hint at a new phone that would go on sale soon. The leaked handset, which appeared today, doesn't look like a high-end handset.

Little is known about the mysterious Windows Phone device. Naturally, details are still a little thin on the ground, as this appears to be a leak which has not emanated from Microsoft itself.

Windows Phone still struggles to gain considerable traction in China - world's most complicated smartphone market. For Microsoft, a low-end Windows handset may prove to be beneficial in the long run, instead of coming up with a premium device.
