Gionee Elife S5.5 Review: Camera and Video
On papers, the Gionee Elife S5.5 comes with an improved 13 MP camera. However, on overall usage and experience we have to say while its not the most revolutionary sensor in the market, it still does the job that's required off it.

The daylight testing might sometime turn out as a major spoiler as photos do tend to look a bit dim. But while you can shift to the HDR mode for all your imaging needs, but might push the camera to a bit of an overload. There's also a 5MP front facing snapper at your disposal for all the selfies and video chats you can think of.

Pictures shot in daylight look kind of underexposed and lacks that satisfactory factor. Color reproduction could be judged as reasonably accurate, while close-up shots are as good as they get.

Apart from that, pictures taken in less light sometime feel a bit grainy and somewhat distorted. The camera will also require some time to adjust when you are focusing on a subject.

The videos shot with the camera also have the similar kinds of issues. And there are no issues with the front camera as it does what is required off it.

Gionee has offered two custom camera apps called Camera and CharmCam. The Camera app is the one that lets you switch between a simple mode and a professional mode. The CharmCam, features live filters to apply effects, apart from various shooting modes.
