HTC Desire 600 Hands on Review: A Smartphone For Slaves to Fashion
GizBot tested HTC Desire 600 based on certain benchmark results. Have a look!

Quadrant Score: 4962

OS and User-interface
The Desire 600 is powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Sense 5.0 skin on the top of the OS. The UI is rather clean and its great to see a change. The highlight here is the iconic HTC BlinkFeed. What's so special about BlinkFeed? Basically, it's a tile shaped social and news viewer exclusive to select HTC handsets.
You have a freedom to customize and select sites /blogs, as per you liking. You can deactivate BlinkFeed any time and choose normal home screen. We haven't seen any Indian site/blog listed, that can be accessible or listed under topics and services. HTC India should need to incorporate local content, so that Indian consumers can take advantage of such feature.
Another highlight of the Sense 5.0 is the gallery feature. You can view clicked pictures of yours in number of forms. Interestingly, you can select images from the gallery as per your liking and the device automatically arranges pictures in the form of short 30-second video. Based on your mood, you can select / deselect pre-defined background music.
The phonebook is also different from standard looking Android powered devices. The operation is based on sliding left or right. For each category (History, Phone, Favorites, People and Group), you need to slide left or right. The background color is dark black, and one may face visibility issues.
The virtual on-screen keyboard is well built. The keys are large enough are large enough for typing. There is no gap given between keys.
Browsing
Browsing on the Desire 600 is an issue for sure. The web pages take a bit longer time to open. It could be because of under powered processor. Zoom out or in, is a big trouble we faced while testing the phone.
Dual SIM
The HTC Desire 600 comes loaded with dual SIM feature enabled. Many customers would see the biggest plus point of having the phone. Indian tech vendors are already offering dual SIM phone for many years in row. Well, most of the dual SIM phones feature dual SIM standby mode. With Desire 600, dual active support is given. That means there is a separate radio chips embedded on the device itself, which allows you to take calls on both SIMs at the same time.
