HTC Holding Event on September 19: 'What Next' Devices to Expect?
HTC 'Phablet' – What to Expect?
A couple of weeks back, reports emerged online that the One series creator will launch HTC-made 5-inch super behemoth screen display smartphone with new model number HTC6435, codenamed “dlx."
Recently, pictures got leaked by Phone HK, which showed that the rumored device has red accents and rim around the rear camera lens, indicating that it will belong to either the EVO or Verizon's Droid lineup. Coming to the front panel, it has three buttons below the display, hinting that it will be running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or above.
Besides these design aspects and blurry image leak, there are no other details. Further, it is possible that the Taiwanese manufacturer is working on a device with a 5 inch or larger display as Samsung has come up with its second generation phablet with 5.5 inch screen and LG is also planning to release the Optmius Vu with a larger display in US soon.
The first report regarding the handset was outed by BGR in April, when they disclosed HTC"s plan to manufacture a Samsung Galaxy Note competitor on the Verizon Wireless network, which would feature a 5-inch display with 1080p HD resolution — a non-Pentile variant, while a quad-core Krait processor and an Adreno 320 GPU will power it.
Further the reports indicate that the upcoming smartphone will also have a 5-inch 1080p display with a resolution of 1794 x 1080 pixels and a Scribe pen. Past reports from BGR suggested that the upcoming HTC handset is a part of Verizon"s fall 2012 smartphone lineup.
The device is also rumored to have 126 vertical lines which would be reserved for Android on-screen buttons. This phablet will run on Android 4.0.4 ICS operating system. But there is also a possibility that the latest Android Jelly Bean operating system could be included in this Phablet when it is launched.
According to a CNET report, the leaked HTC phablet will have an 8MP rear camera and will be integrated with the Beats Audio, like any other HTC product.
Next at the HTC event is the highly anticipated upcoming WP8 platform range from the manufacturer. Read More on next page.
