HTC claims the E8's 13MP rear camera is way ahead than competitors usually offer. The E8 doesn't come with HTC's now trademarked "duo-camera". Anyways, the 13MP image sensor used inside the E8 is also decent enough. We have tried to capture few photographs using the E8's 13MP camera.
The results were quite compelling and surprising too. There is also a 5MP front-facing shooter made for taking selfies. We did not test the front camera primarily due to shortage of time.
The company has also tried to simply the camera app. You can access to camera's basic features, such as normal shooting, Video, Zoe, Selfie, Dual Capture and Pan 360. The video recording feature on the E8 is quite impressive.
You can record a 1080p FHD video in 30fps. In fact both dual cameras are capable of recording 1080p videos, just like any other high-end handset. The sample video we recorded was not over-the-top.
