HTC Re Camera: Accessories, Battery, Price and Early verdict

As far as mounting options are concerned, there's a standard 1/4-20 tripod mount on the bottom. According to the company, there will be a couple of mounts to be available, for instance, a headband mount and neck-straps.

HTC has added a non-removable 820 mAh battery, which should be good for up to 1 hour and 40 minutes of Full HD video recording or 1,200 16-megapixel still photos.

Well the HTC Re action camera is not pitted against the popular GoPro camera range. Instead the device is a standalone camera that pairs to either Android or iOS smartphones and is designed in such a way to take photos or videos more passionately.

There's no display or User interface (UI) but you can pair the device with the Re's companion app for iPhone or Android phone to transfer photos and video over Wi-Fi and use the phone as a remote viewfinder.

We think the HTC Re is easier to use than your existing smartphone because you don't have to frame a shot each time. But the million dollar question remains : do you like spend a $199 or Rs. 12,000 on the HTC Re action camera.
