The trusted leakster and Twitter user @evleaks has recently leaked out press image and the specifications one of the upcoming mid range handset from the house of LG. The talk is about Optimus L9 2, the successor of Optimus L9; launched in MWC 2013.
Apparently according to multiple reports, the smartphone is speculated to come as early as this month. Going by the leaked specs, the Optimus L9 2 would have a similar 4.7-inch display like it's predecessor. However the handset is said to sport a 720p display instead of the qHD display seen in its original sibling and the processor also expect to see an upgrade to1.2GHz Snapdragon S4 MSM8320 processor instead of 1 GHz TI OMAP 4430. Further, it is also said to come with Adreno 305 GPU.
Meanwhile, Optimus L9 2 is expected to run on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) which is better than the L9's Android v4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS. There is no information with regards to whether the handset will feature a dual SIM support or not.
However, in the camera section, the smartphone is expected to come with 8MP rear camera with LED flash and BSI sensor and 1.3MP front-facing camera as well. There would be an 8GB internal memory which would be expandable up 32GB via microSD and the connectivity department is said to include 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and aGPS. Eventually the leak also hints at a 2,150 mAh battery.
LG has been putting up a good show in the smartphone arena this year. With the latest two handsets from LG, viz Optimus G Pro which comes with a premium high quality display and the recently launched LG G2, the manufacturer has been really coming up to the expectation of the LG fans. Not only that but LG has also been focusing on their mid range portfolio and has successfully launched Couple of handsets in their L series back in February. Recently, the L4 II Dual and entry-level phone L1 2 also went on sale in India.
However, the upcoming handset from LG will surely go against devices like Nexus 4, Xolo Q800 and Sony Xperia SP. Unfortunately, there is no hint on the price of Optimus L9 2 as of now.
