    LG Optimus Zip is now available for online purchase from Straight Talk website in US. The device was earlier available only with Verizon as its carrier. Now the product has been released directly for retail purchase in the Straight Talk website, as well. Users can purchase this product at an approximate cost of Rs. 10,000. The affordable pricing of this handset is all set to attract consumers of the mid-range smartphone segment. It has features and specifications as per industry standards.

    LG Optimus Zip will be using the popular Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. Gingerbread has limited customization abilities compared to that of Android ICS or Jelly Bean. It is not clear whether there will be a possible update to any of these upgraded OS in the future. It is a QWERTY phone that is enhanced with its slide-in and slide-out features. Keys are designed to provide a convenient typing experience to its users. The handset uses 3.2 inches of screen display size with touch screen functionality capable of providing a good quality multimedia experience.

    Faster response and quicker processing is made possible by 800 MHz Qualcomm processor in LG Optimus Zip. Browsing is enhanced with Flash 10. More data and files can be included in handset using an expandable MicroSD card slot. Images can be clicked using the 3.2 mega pixel rear camera featuring an average resolution. Video can also be recorded using video recorder present in the device. Connectivity features present in the handset include Bluetooth, USB and Wi-Fi which can be used for efficient transfer of data.

     

    The presence of 3G functionality in LG Optimus Zip ensures better and faster Wi-Fi connection. The handset is also GPS enabled. Built in GPS feature facilitates smoother navigation. This mobile phone also supports multi-format audio and video players. HDMI and 3.5 mm audio jack is also included to provide better video and audio output for its users. By releasing the device for direct retail purchase from StraightTalk website, LG expects to attract users who would like to use the handset with any of their favourite carriers.
