Micromax A200: 4.7 Inch HD Smartphone With Quad-Core Processor Leaks Ahead of Launch
Looks like the year 2013 proved to be lucky for domestic tech vendor Micromax. The makers behind the Canvas Blaze MT500 set a new trend by appointing Hollywood heartthrob, Hugh Jackman as their brand ambassador.
While Micromax's Canvas series managed to make a charm with hit devices under its kitty including the Canvas Turbo A250; the company now prepares a new mid-range handset for masses.
NCR based Micromax is planning to bring a brand new Android phone into Indian market. The Micromax A200 is believed to be a mid-range handset with above average specifications. The exact release date of the device is not known, however, it seems that the A200 could be launch any time soon.
Trusted sources close to twitter sensation @MMXNewscaster revealed that the makers behind Canvas Doodle 2 may come with a new mid range handset having a quad-core processor.
The A200 will have a 4.7-inch HD display 720p HD with Gorilla Glass 2 alongside a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 4GB of internal memory. The handset is expected to measure 7.9mm in terms of thickness, making the device really slim.
For high quality image, there's an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The tweet further reveals battery life (1800mAh), which seems okay for a mid-range handset. The A200 seems to be running on the Android mobile OS.
As mentioned earlier, Micromax could announce the phone any time soon. GizBot expect the handset to be priced around Rs.12,000 in the Indian market. So yes, be prepared to know more about the device from us in the coming hours.
Of lately, Indian handset market is now dominated by low-to mid-range range phones. From International payers to local Indian vendors, everyone seems aggressive about affordable mid-range Android powered handsets. With the coming of Motorola Moto X in January next year, the competition in the mid-range category will further increase. Stay tuned to GizBot for more updates!
