Micromax A240 Is Actually Canvas Doodle 2: 5.7-inch Quad Core Smartphone Teased Again

The Canvas 4 maker is all set to bring company's most ambitious phablet in the Indian market. The Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 is a successor to original Canvas Doodle, which not only praised for its affordable price tag but also started the trend of large screen handsets. In every sense, the first-generation Canvas Doodle was India's answer to Galaxy Note 2.

Now the team behind Canvas HD is planning to give Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 a tough competition in the form of Doodle 2. What is Canvas Doodle 2? Will it be a challenger to Mega 5.8 or forthcoming Note 3? Only time will tell.

In the comments section, when a consumer asked about the availability date of Canvas Doodle 2, the company answered "the Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 is coming soon. There are different theories attached to Canvas Doodle 2. Few days back, a report was published saying that Micromax planning Canvas A240 to take on Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8. The model no A240 , is said to be a new Canvas handset with a 5.7-inch 720p HD display having 1GB of RAM and quad-core processor. Most of the Indian tech media still believe that A240 and Canvas Doodle 2 are separate handsets. Our sources say that A240 could the model no of Canvas Doodle 2. In simple language, Micromax is coming up with only one handset i.e. Canvas Doodle 2 (A240).

The Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 is an upcoming handset with giant display screen. The phone will have a 5.7-inch 720pHD display. It will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad -core processor (MediaTek MT6589) coupled with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

The Doodle 2 is said to have a 12-mega pixel rear facing camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash. Also add a 5-mega pixel camera on the front. The makers could opt for 3000mAh Li Ion battery. Don't be surprised to see free stylus bundled with the device. Other connectivity options include: 3G, Wi-Fi, 2G, A-GPS, among others. Expect Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 to be priced around Rs. 17,990.

The Galaxy Mega 5.8 comes with a giant 5.8 display (qHD) having resolution of 540 x 960 pixels at 190 ppi. The phone is powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory (expandable up to 64GB via microSD card). There's an 8-mega pixel rear facing camera with LED Flash light and Auto Focus. Also add a 1.9-mega pixel front facing camera. Other highlighted features include: Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 2,600mAh Li Ion battery. The device comes with Dual SIM facility.
