The new year has been bringing in a lot of budget friendly handsets in the market from the Indian smartphone vendors. However, few smartphones like Xolo Q3000 and Intex Aqua Octa has also been launched already which are high end devices. Now the leading Indian player in the smartphone business, Micromax has released two new Android smartphones in the country at a very budget friendly price.
Falling in the line of the company's popular Bolt series, the new smartphones viz. Bolt A59 and Bolt A28 are already on Snapdeal.com. The device is expected to be available on retails across India shortly within few days.
Going by the specs, the Micromax Bolt A59 comes with 3.5-inch HVGA display (320×480 pixels resolution) and is powered by a 1GHz single-core Spreadtrum SC7710 processor coupled with 256MB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.1 OS. The phone also features 2MP rear camera, front facing VGA camera, 512MB of internal storage, dual-SIM support and 1500 mAh battery. Connectivity options include 2G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is priced at Rs. 4,542.
On the other hand Micromax Bolt A28 features a 3.5-inch HVGA display. It is powered by a 1GHz single-core processor coupled with 256MB of RAM. It runs on older version of OS, Android 2.3. The device houses 512MB of inbuilt storage along with a microSD card slot. Similar connectivity features are present in the ahndset like 2G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Obviously it supports a dual-SIM support and also sports a 0.3MP front and rear cameras. The device is powered by 1500 mAh battery. The basic smartphone comes at the cost of Rs. 3,674.
These new Micromax smartphones are entry level devices and are suitable for consumers who are looking to buy a dual SIM phones in a low price. However, devices with such specs which comes at this price point can be found in ample numbers in the market. Thus there will some harsh competition to see. Apart from all the devices, most likely devices that will compete with these newbies will be recently launched Lava Iris 354e, Nokia Asha 501, Asha 502 and Asha 500 among others.
