Motorola Launches Moto E With 4G LTE Support: A big threat to Samsung's Latest affordable 4G Range

|

When Motorola released the Moto E back in 2014, it was seen a breakthrough device in the entry-level segment, making it the most successful handset in the Indian market.

With its new Moto E, Motorola is once again trying to use the same tactics - this time around with a bigger screen, a new quad-core processor and 4G LTE support.

Motorola Launches Moto E With 4G LTE Support

Motorola, a Lenovo company, has launched the second-generation Moto E with better than expected specifications. Now available on sale in almost 40 countries, the next-generation Moto E brings 4G LTE connectivity at a very affordable price.
Like the original Moto E, the second-generation Moto G is targeted at the developing world. However, this time around the new handset offers 4G LTE support and a slightly modified processor.

It has got a bigger 4.5-inch screen with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels with a Corning Gorillia Glass coating. Under the hood a 1.2GHz quad-core, Snapdragon 410 processor keeps things running smooth alongside 1GB of RAM and 8GB of native storage - expandable via microSD up to 32GB. The original model has a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor and a 4.3-inch screen with the same resolution.

The device is running the latest version of Google's mobile operating system, Android Lollipop 5.0. On the imaging front, it gets a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a VGA quality front facing shooter.

Motorola says they will start shipping a 3G $120 (Rs. 7,560) version of the upgraded Moto E in the coming days. Unfortunately, it lacks 4G LTE and has a less powerful quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor inside. Meanwhile, the model with 4G LTE costs $150 (Rs. 9,450).

However, compared to recent launched devices from the likes of Samsung, the new Motorola Moto E2 still offer great specs and features. Take for instance, Samsung Galaxy J1 4G, the latest 4G LTE device has a small 4.3-inch (480 x 800) screen and is powered by a 1.2 quad-core processor alongside 768 RAM. This very device will be made available in India at around Rs. 10,000. However, the Moto E2 is going to ship with the Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. The new device will be upgraded to a future version of Android, too.
