Alcatel 3V with dual rear cameras, Android Oreo to launch at MWC 2018

Alcatel showcased three new smartphones at CES 2018 in January; Alcatel 1X, Alcatel 3V and Alcatel 5. However, the company didn't reveal much about the specs as it reportedly plans to launch the smartphones at MWC 2018 later this month. Well, ahead of that, the entire specs sheet along with some new images of the Alcatel 3V have surfaced online. The leak comes from the renowned tipster Roland Quandt.

The tipster took to his Twitter account to reveal that the Alcatel 3V will come in three color variants; Black, Blue and Gold. In in the pictures shared by him, the device is seen sporting the Blue color. To start with the design, the smartphone comes with trending 18:9 display. However, it doesn't appear to be a bezel-less smartphone as the bezels on the top and bottom are quite thick.

Coming to the specifications, the Alcatel 3V is fitted with a large 6-inch IPS display that delivers a Full HD+ resolution of 2,160×1,080 pixels. The display features an aspect ratio of 18:9 and it is covered by a 2.5D curved glass.

Under the hood, the smartphone is driven by a quad-core MediaTek MT8735A processor running at 1.45GHz. The chipset is coupled with Mali T20 MP2 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The Alcatel 3V offers 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via the dedicated microSD card slot.

Talking about the imagery aspect, the smartphone is equipped with a vertically dual camera setup at the back. The setup comprises of a 12MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. At the front, there is a 5MP fixed focus selfie camera (interpolate to 8MP) enabled with LED flash.

As far as the software part is concerned, the Alcatel 3V will arrive with Android 8.0 Oreo operating system, which is a surprise. The smartphone packs a standard 3,000mAh battery, which is claimed to 6 hours of talk time, 500 hours of standby time and 4 hours of charging time.

Connectivity features onboard include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with A-SPG, dual SIM and micro USB port. The smartphone also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The handset measures measures 162×76×8.05 mm and weighs 155 grams.
