Android 7.0 Nougat Update is Now Available for HTC One M9 Users
HTC has announced the roll-out of Android 7.0 Nougat update for the unlocked models of HTC One M9.
In recent times, the smartphone market is experiencing the release of the Android 7.0 Nougat update in most of the smartphones of different brands. The update, on the other hand, seems to be rolled out on a slower pace.
While HTC, the Taiwan-based consumer electronics firm had already announced that the owners of unlocked HTC 10 units would be receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update, now the company has again in their Twitter feed confirmed that the unlocked HTC One M9 smartphones will also be receiving the update.
The company is taking a firm step to fulfill its promise that it had made earlier of HTC 10, HTC One M9, and HTC One A9 users receiving the update sometime in the fourth quarter.

However, the company has mentioned that the carrier variants will receive the update sometime next year but not before the end of this year.
With this good news, the current owners of HTC One M9 should look out for the OTA update notification soon.
As for HTC One A9 while we were anticipating that the smartphone would receive the update much quicker than M9, HTC had an official response to the issue as reported by XDA and said that the company had changed their mind, and instead assigned their available engineers to work on the update for the "most popular flagship products" first since they felt this benefited the most customers.

So now it's only HTC One A9 users remaining to get the Nougat update. Hopefully, HTC will keep its promise of the Nougat release for One A9 before the end of the fourth quarter.
On the other hand, if you want to know what to expect from the Nougat update, it will bring several new features like enhanced battery-saving with a tweaked Doze, multi-window, upgraded notifications, in-line replies and much more.
