According to Barclays analyst Tim Long, Apple’s first foldable iPhone is expected to launch between late 2026 and early 2027. His team gathered insights from supply chain meetings in Asia, and the price estimate puts the device at nearly double the cost of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which starts at $1,199.

Long suggests that the premium pricing could limit sales volume, as foldable devices generally cater to a niche audience willing to pay a premium for cutting-edge technology.

Expected Features and Design

Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also weighed in on Apple’s foldable iPhone, predicting a price range of $2,000 to $2,500. He believes the success of the device will depend on its build quality and whether Apple can deliver a crease-free display, a challenge that has plagued current foldable smartphones.

Kuo also expects the device to be 4.5mm thin when unfolded and between 9mm to 9.5mm when folded, making it one of Apple’s thinnest designs yet.
