If the reports are accurate, Apple will announce four models in September 2026: the iPhone 18 Air, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone. The entry-level iPhone 18 and the budget-friendly iPhone 18e, however, may be held back until early 2027.

This staggered rollout suggests Apple's intent to prioritize premium devices, allowing them to dominate the market before introducing more affordable alternatives. To recall, the iPhone 17 series is expected to make its debut in India and globally next month.

Apple's First Foldable Device

Apple's debut foldable iPhone is expected to feature a book-style design similar to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold series. Early reports indicate a 7.8-inch internal AMOLED display complemented by a 5.5-inch external screen, both supplied by Samsung Display.

Unlike Apple's current lineup, the foldable model may replace Face ID with Touch ID, while also incorporating a dual-camera setup and a reinforced build for durability. Industry sources suggest the device will carry a premium price tag of approximately $1,999.

Beyond the iPhone 18 series, Apple is also expected to streamline its lineup. The company may discontinue the Plus variant, replacing it with the iPhone 17 Air - a remarkably slim device rumored to measure just 5.5mm in thickness and weigh only 149 grams.
