Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate Endures Rigorous Torture Test, Emerges Victorious
The Asus ROG Phone 7 is a standout gaming phone with impressive features, and the Ultimate version takes it to the next level with the addition of the Aeroactive Portal. This unique feature introduces a motorized air intake system that works in tandem with the AeroActive Cooler accessory. Recently, popular tech YouTuber JerryRigEverything conducted a teardown and torture test video to showcase the functionality of the new Aeroactive air-intake system in the Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate.
Let's dive in.
Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate Goes Through the Torture Test
The Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, priced at $1400, has undergone the popular JerryRigEverything teardown that revealed its redesigned internal hardware with a motorized trap door for improved cooling efficiency.
This phone stands out with its unique two-inch display on the back and introduces a motorized air vent, a first-of-its-kind feature. The motorized vent works in conjunction with the AeroActive cooler accessory, triggering the trap door to open while offering dust protection.
During the teardown, the durability test showcased the phone's sturdy construction. The motorized trap door, operated by a stepper motor with a lifespan of 40,000 actuations, proved to be reliable.
Inside, the presence of copper cooling fins indicated the effectiveness of the cooling system. However, the phone relies solely on this single vent for airflow, lacking additional ventilation points.
The teardown also examined the phone's screen, which utilizes Gorilla Glass Victus, a scratch-resistant glass.
The rear glass panel houses a two-inch OLED screen and a camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 5-megapixel macro camera. The under-screen fingerprint scanner demonstrated reliable functionality, even after intentional surface grooving.
The ROG Phone 7 UItimate Emerges Victorious
Furthermore, the Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate's 6.8-inch AMOLED screen exhibited resilience during the bend test, flexing but ultimately surviving without breaking.
In summary, the teardown of the Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate emphasized its innovative cooling system, durable build, scratch-resistant screen, and impressive performance in the durability test, solidifying its reputation as a reliable gaming phone.
