Asus ZenFone 5Z Gets Stable Android 10 Update: Adds System-Wide Dark Mode, Removes Some Apps
Asus ZenFone 5Z emerged as one of the most capable mid-range smartphones back in 2018. The smartphone was launched with some top-of-the-line hardware like the Snapdragon 845 chipset and an FHD+ display. Launched under Rs. 30,000, it is still one of the best value flagships out there. Recently, Asus released an Android 10 based beta update for the ZenFone 5Z. Now, the stable update is being released. Here is all you need to know:

Asus ZenFone 5Z Stable Android 10 Update
The Asus ZenFone 5Z is getting an Android 10 update based on ZenUI 6. The update comes with the V100.04.44.98 build number and is rolling out as FOTA (Firmware Over The Air).
It is being released in batches; therefore, it might take a while to reach all the users. However, you can also check it manually by heading to the System Update section in the Settings Menu.
The latest update brings along the key Android features and also removes some of the apps. The Android 10 features include a system-wide dark mode with a Live Caption feature. This feature automatically gives caption the videos, podcasts and audio messages with just a single tap on any application.
It also brings support for audio streaming to hearing aid devices and new enterprise features. The update removes a whole bunch of applications along with the Google Play system update.
The applications and settings removed include Selfie Master, Page Marker, ZeniMoki, Kids Mode, Easy Mode, Go2 Pay, Report Location in Safeguard, AI charging, and weather animation setting.
The firmware update also removed the Twin App support form games like PUBG, VainGlory, Injustice2, and Arena of Valor. The APN settings are also upgraded and the device now has the APN setting of Canada Public Mobile as well. The themes and Mobile Manager are now moved to Advanced Settings.
Just to recap, the Asus ZenFone 5Z is equipped with a 6.22-inch LCD display with 1080 x 2246 pixels resolution and a Corning Gorilla Glass protection. At the rear, there is a dual-lens setup packed with a 12MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.
There is an 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The device is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 845 processor with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. Completing the spec-sheet is a 3,300 mAh battery.
