Exynos 2400 vs. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Gaming Test Shows That Exynos Is Not as Bad as It Seems
The Samsung Galaxy S24 series recently made its debut, featuring the powerhouse Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in the US and the Samsung Exynos 2400 in most other regions.
A recent gaming performance test video by NL Tech aims to shed light on how these chipsets fare in real-world gaming scenarios.

Gaming Test Overview
NL Tech's 43-minute YouTube video compares the gaming performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with the Exynos 2400-equipped Galaxy S24+. The extensive examination covers popular titles like Fortnite, Genshin Impact, PUBG Mobile, PUBG New State, Call of Duty: Mobile, War Thunder, and Mobile Legends.
Gaming Results
PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty, Fortnite
Both Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra showcased comparable performance, with Samsung's flagship Exynos 2400 keeping pace with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 while playing games like PUBG, Call of Duty, and Fortnite.
Frame Rates Stability
In Genshin Impact and PUBG Mobile, both phones maintained a steady 60fps. PUBG New State exhibited a stable frame rate of around 90fps on both devices. Mobile Legends achieved 60fps, and in Fortnite, both chipsets maintained 90fps, occasionally dropping to 70fps.
Call of Duty: Mobile
The Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S24 Ultra took the lead in Call of Duty: Mobile, maintaining a smooth 120fps. In contrast, the Exynos-powered Galaxy S24+ was capped at 60fps.
War Thunder
An interesting twist emerged in War Thunder, where the Exynos 2400 outperformed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, reaching 100fps with its Xclipse 940 GPU, while the Snapdragon throttled down to 40fps.
The Bottom Line
Despite early concerns regarding the performance gap between the Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the gaming test results suggest a neck-and-neck competition. Samsung's in-house chipset demonstrated comparable performance without significant discrepancies in gaming performance.
It's worth noting that the tests were conducted on pre-production hardware, and future optimizations from Samsung may influence these results.
