Funtouch OS 16 Tipped to Bring OriginOS-Inspired Control Center, Widgets, and More
Vivo is gearing up to refresh its software experience with Funtouch OS 16, built on Android 16. New details from tipster Aryan Gupta (@SavageAryan007) suggest that the update will feel more modern than recent versions.

A Step Closer to OriginOS
One of the biggest complaints about Funtouch OS has been its dated design compared to OriginOS, which Vivo offers in China. According to the leak, Funtouch OS 16 will borrow more elements from OriginOS, including a redesigned control center and stacked app switcher. If true, this could be good news for users in India who’ve been waiting patiently for either OriginOS itself or a serious revamp of Funtouch OS.

Dynamic Island-Inspired Notifications
The update is also tipped to bring a floating notification feature inspired by Apple’s Dynamic Island. This will likely display alerts, live activity updates, or media controls at the top of the screen in an interactive way. Combined with Android 16’s Live Updates, it could make everyday use feel more fluid.
Other Key Features
The leak also mentions full-screen Always-On Display support and more widget options, giving users greater flexibility to customize their phones. On the Android 16 side, security upgrades like Android Protection will block scam calls and unsafe apps, while Cooldown Mode will automatically lower spammy notification sounds. Large-screen Vivo and iQOO devices will also benefit from Desktop Windowing, which allows resizable app windows similar to a PC.
Rollout Plans
While Vivo hasn’t confirmed the official timeline, updates usually start with the X series and iQOO number series before reaching the V, T, and Y lineups. With Android 16 already rolling out, Funtouch OS 16 could follow soon.
