Samsung Brings Flagship Camera Tricks to the Galaxy S26 FE at Rs 79999

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S26 FE in India, and it is the first phone in the Galaxy S26 lineup to ship with One UI 9 out of the box. The company is positioning it around three things: an upgraded camera system, context-aware Galaxy AI, and everyday performance that does not force a compromise. It comes in a single 8GB plus 256GB configuration priced at Rs 79999, available in Pistachio, Blueberry and Graphite colourways.

Camera is the highlight

The triple rear setup on the S26 FE is a 50MP wide camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide, and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom that stretches to 30x digitally. Up front is a 12MP camera. What is new for the FE series this year is My FanCam, a feature that locks onto a chosen subject and keeps them centred in frame automatically as they move, which should save people the trouble of manually reframing shaky vlogs and event footage.

Samsung has also brought over Super Steady with Horizontal Lock for smoother handheld video, along with its Nightography low-light processing and a Photo Assist tool that lets users edit images using plain text prompts instead of digging through sliders. On the AI editing side, Gemini Omni can pull clips and photos from the gallery and turn them into ready-to-post videos, and buyers get a six-month Google AI Pro trial that includes 5TB of cloud storage.

Galaxy AI gets more context aware

Running on One UI 9, the S26 FE leans on an updated Now Brief that builds personalised briefing cards around weather, wellness and daily context, and now lets users create their own cards with a simple prompt. Circle to Search with Google has also been upgraded to search for multiple items in a single frame instead of one at a time.

Battery, display and chipset

The phone runs a 4900mAh battery with 45W wired charging that Samsung says can take it to 69 percent in about 30 minutes. Up front is a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1900 nits. Power comes from Samsung's own Exynos 2500 chipset, built on a 3nm process, paired with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Samsung is also backing the S26 FE with up to seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from its global launch date, which is a longer support runway than most phones in this price band offer. An upgraded Smart Switch also lets users move data over from an Android or iOS phone by just scanning a QR code, including passwords, passkeys and eSIM data.

The Galaxy S26 FE is priced at Rs 79999 for the 8GB and 256GB variant. Buyers can pick one of the following offers, and Samsung has confirmed these are mutually exclusive.

An exchange upgrade bonus of up to Rs 8000 on trading in an old device, up to 30 months of no-cost EMI through select NBFC partners along with an extra Rs 3000 upgrade bonus, Rs 7000 cashback on select bank cards or a 12-month no-cost bank EMI, and an 18-month bank EMI option for purchases made through Samsung's eStore.
