Google's Next Pixel Drop Leaks Early: Screen Reactions, AI Music Generation, Gemini Omni Video, and More

Google hasn't officially announced its next Pixel Drop yet, but it may have accidentally done so anyway. Promotional videos spotted on Google's Amazon account teased three upcoming Pixel Drop features: Screen Reactions for Creators, Gemini Omni, and Turn Your Ideas into Music.

The videos weren't pushed through Google's usual marketing channels, which makes the whole thing a bit of an accidental reveal.

Google Spoiled Its Own Pixel Drop and It Looks Pretty Good

The last Pixel Drop landed in March 2026, and based on Google's usual quarterly schedule, the next one is slightly overdue. Going by the branding on these videos, it looks like it's coming soon.

What Is Screen Reactions

Screen Reactions for Creators is the headlining feature. It lets users record their phone's screen while simultaneously capturing a selfie video overlay from the front camera. The floating camera feed can be repositioned on the fly, making it easier to film tutorials, gameplay reactions, or commentary without needing third-party editing tools.

Screen Reactions was first shown at The Android Show in May and was later spotted in the Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 update. It was widely expected to arrive with Android 17 later this year, but these promos suggest it could land much sooner through a Pixel Drop instead.

Technically, Screen Reactions is the only genuinely new feature in this batch. The other two are a bit more complicated.

Gemini Omni Video Creation

Gemini Omni was introduced at Google I/O 2026 as a model capable of generating content in any output modality from any input, starting with video. The leaked Pixel Drop promo shows Gemini Omni video creation on a Pixel, including the ability to combine different types of media to produce a video.

The catch: Gemini Omni features are already available to Pixel users with a paid Gemini subscription, so the Pixel Drop may be highlighting or expanding access rather than introducing the technology fresh. It's a little unusual to see subscription features packaged as a general update, but that seems to be what's happening here.

AI Music Generation

The third feature is AI music generation, which lets users create original songs from a text prompt. Google's demo example involves asking Gemini to write a country song telling a roommate to stop eating someone's ice cream. Silly example, but it gets the point across.

One of the promo videos carries the tagline "Turn Your Ideas into Music," suggesting Pixel users will be able to generate songs or audio clips using simple text prompts directly on the phone.

Not to Be Confused With the June Android Drop

This upcoming Pixel Drop appears separate from the broader June Android Drop that Google officially announced on June 2. That update brought features like fake call detection in Phone by Google, Circle to Search outfit search, Google Photos digital wardrobe, and Personal Safety features for kids. The Pixel Drop is a different, Pixel-exclusive update on top of that.

When Is It Coming

Google hasn't confirmed a date. The drop is expected to roll out by the end of June, which would make it the first substantial post-I/O 2026 upgrade for Pixel smartphones. Given that Google's own promotional videos are already live, it probably isn't too far out.
